Question on Lorex LHV1000 Wire

Recommended Posts

Hey guys... new guy here and I had to ask a Question.

Looking into getting the LHV1000 Lorex from Costco @ $499. for the house

Is it true there should only be one set of iwre from camera to DVR. 60 feet isn't enough for some of my cam, I'm about 25 ft short and they recommended me to get a 100 ft to keep it one wire all the way for connection of rg59.

Also, If this is true, where do I get good ones for a cheaper price than what lorex offer on their website. I've never done this and new to security cam.

Lastly, If i hook my tv up to the dvr in the back room. How can I view the camera in another tv in the house.

Also, Since my budget is about $500 for an 8 ch cam, do you recommend any other set that I can get my hands on thats 720p? Sams has the 8 CH Swann Model #: SWHDK-880508-US for 499 also.

Thanks.

Buy 100m of siamese or shotgun and make your own cable

Watch out for voltage drop. You might be better off powering the camera more locally

and just run RG59 which is easier to work with and lighter to handle.

I actually made a 100M run with (gulp) URM70 which is a (stranded center cable) it was all that was available.

The result was surprisingly good, ( well it is 75 OHM cable) but don't you do it as it's mainly for making small

patch leads as its so flexible.
