Its no problem doing this. If you ONLY want to view across your LAN then it couldn't be simpler.

Firstly you should have a CD that came with your DVR which will probably have Client software to load onto your computer.

If this is to be an essential part of your life then you will need to give your DVR a static IP on your network. The best way to achieve this is in 3 stages

Assuming your DVR is connected to your router either by wifi or by ethernet cable:

Stage 1. In your DVRs Network settings set the DHCP to adn restrt the DVR.

then go back into the Network settings and uncheck the DHCP which will set the DVR address to static.

Now you can either change the DVR address ID (last group of 3 digits to a number like 200-253 id you wish or leave it as is if you like.

Stage 2. Log into your Virgin Superhub address 192.168.0.1 The default password is changeme username is either admin or there may be a login pin (usually under the HUB)

Check your device is being seen by the router, by clicking Device connection Status and seeing if the DVR's IP is in the list

assuming it is, click the home button and select advanced settings scroll down to DHCP reservations and select that.

Find your DVR in the list and reserve the IP address. This will make sure that your DVR ALWAYS gets the same IP address when you restart it. Don't forget to click on the APPLY button and then log out of your superhub

Now no other device will be allocated the IP address of the DVR so you know it will not change.

Stage 3 Not having seen what your software is I cannot advise however in the settings, the address will be your LAN IP address now. so eg 192.168.0.200(-253) The user will be the admin and the password will be the default password (if there isn't one leave it blank)

Alternatives;y f you have a web interface you type the IP address of your DVR into IE address bar followed by the :80 or the number of your HTTP port and you should see a login screen.

Alternatively call a local CCTV engineer to set it up for you shouldnt cost more thn a couple hours labour at the most.

Good Luck

I am renting a house, and do not have any CD's, secondly I have a Belgacom router, and am not sure how to do all these configurations. Could you possible explain for starters?

And how can I connect my router through wireless?

Talk about a post getting confused .

Lucamotoc. That mod avtech I should think will have no support .. As you have seen from the old links on the other post even avtech have deleted the page.

Going local only you have two options and no need to do any router settings as your local only

1st netgear home plugs .... One on dvr and other on your router then call your DVRs IP up

2nd is video sender from bnc output on dvr to your TV scart
