CCTV Cameras and Avigilon

Recommended Posts

Hello,

thx for getting inside this Group.

i have one important question. we have in our Company about 500 cameras, all are cctv cameras.

now we want use avigilon to include our hd-sid cameras in the Control Center.

the Encoder dont works, only with analog cameras, but not with this cctv cams.

do you have any ideas how we can include the cctv cams in avigilon?

thx markus

Hi. Your just using the wrong encoder

Your talking about 500 cameras ...... That's a lot of money to add encoders too.

It's cheaper to swap out for avigilon cameras than change to encoders.

I would suggest the same

get 500 HIK and Avigilon soft ( HIK cost less then Encoder )

very hard to beat this combo

We manage large Avigilon systems currently up to 1000 cameras for one of our customers. Once you get up over 100 cameras managing the system becomes very important.

Couple of issues using Hikvision cameras in ACC:

Motion detection is configured in the cameras not in ACC meaning you have to log into every camera and set it up unlike Avigilon cameras which are all configured in the client software via a right click.

No pre or post motion detection unless you have Enterprise and configure alarms for each camera

This is the biggest issue: No pixel search. For large systems which users search video everyday pixel motion search is a HUGE time saver and one of the main reasons we see customers use Avigilon end to end solutions.

hello again,

what do you think to convert the signal to analog and the connect to avigilon converter. i think it will be ok?

problem is the main signal go in future to the dvr and cant be broken.

thx markus

what about using 16chn HDSDI/HDTVI dvr's and seeing if you can rstp the streams from the dvr into avigilon?

its not cost effective with licensing but it could work...

ive seen IPVM do it with milestone and an analogue hd dvr.
