Complex System (is possible)

Recommended Posts

Good night folks,

First I would like to say that this forum is excellent and apologize for my English.

I would like to install on my new home this CCTV system.

I imagine the system like this:

- Up to 16 IP cameras;

- Connected to a PoE switch

- The mini mac or DVR to manage cameras

- NAS hidden to record.

so far it's all ok.

Now the trouble starts.

I wish I had a tv/monitor in the garage exit showing only 4 external cameras, for when I leave I can see what is happening outside the house in the streets.

(Tv garage to switch is approximately 50 meters)

How do I do this? I can use a ethernet switch cable to the TV, but how I to select the four cameras and send the signal to switch the tv?

I have to use a ethernet to hdmi adapter ?

And if possible I would like to have somewhere inside the house showing all the cameras for me to see what is happening all over the place.

Are you located in the los angeles area?

Please dont spam the forum soliciting business. It is against forum rules.

OP, you can easily do this using an android device displaying the camera feeds on any monitor...

Simple....use a tablet or Mobile phone and set the 4 views as favourite view on APP ( subject to which NVR you choose) that way you don't need a screen In garage

Cool diagrams!

For the monitors, as mentioned, an Android device can do it. If your TV has a USB plug that accepts something such as the Amazone FireTV USB stick...it runs Android. Then load up the app of your choice to display the cams on the TV.

Slightly more complex would be an Android stick computer which probably has a mini-HDMI jack.

fit one of these- nvr with poe:-

SAMSUNG SRN-1673S 16 CHANNEL 2TB CCTV NETWORK VIDEO RECORDER 8M SUPPORTED 80Mbps PLUG & PLAY 16 PoE/PoE+ 1080P H.264

use Samsung codec SPE-400 with quad facility to point to any 4 cameras on your system for the quad views.

no switch required since nvr will do poe.

the nvr will be the storage so you would need to hide or secure the unit.
