TVS has a good software package called CYA, used with their interface boxes. I don't know what the pricing is since Honeywell bought them. From what I've heard it is an exclusive ADI product now since ADI is also owned by Honeywell. Worth checking out, I presume you have an ADI branch near you.

sorry cant help you there, i only do cctv now, have never got involved with the pos industry when i was doing computers. I did however demo one earlier this year, works great, I have a colleague that has these installed in all of their electronic stores, using a touch screen etc, 'Retail Assistant', http://www.dynascan.com/, probably the one I will be using for my new business.

Are we talking about POS interfaces with DVRs, or POS software? Most DVR brands have POS interfaces made by themselves that will integrate with most POS.

Herm, rory and AV, thank you. I'll look into the CYA.

rory, which want do you recommend?

Since i would be using a GE Kalatel DVR, I would use their Probridge POS interface, their network software has full capability to view POS and ATM transactions.

Rory,

Dynascan uses Regit Point Of Sale if I am not mistaken it.

Regit doesn't support ramdom weigh, a very important tool in grocery stores.

The geo box is the biggest pain the ass piecof SH*t that they have made.

I only got it to work on Dedicated Micros newer line, but none of my customer want anything to do with GEO anymore, so I'm moving them all to the witness series, all it takes with them is a .DLL file in the server running the software, and a NIC card that's hooked up to the same network as the DVR.

More to come on this subject.
