Advice on video camera for research

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am looking to carry out some research at a University in the UK, looking at the impact of urban spaces on physical activity.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a video camera that can be placed in a public space, which meets the following criteria:

  1. Can record video during set intervals e.g. 10-11am, 12-1pm, 3-4pm, 5-6pm
  2. Has enough battery life to record for a total duration of 8 hours (using the above intervals) over two days.
  3. The quality of video images doesn't matter too much, as long as people's physical activity behaviour could be reliably coded. Can be black & white. Doesn't need audio.
  4. Ideally, it can do the above and stream/record the video images onto a Cloud (rather than storing the data locally on the camera).
  5. Suitable for use in the UK i.e. data processing is GDPR compliant.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jack

Hi

thanks for the response

budget is quite flexible as it’s part of a large university grant.

please send me a link or let me know which camera you’re thinking of? Thanks

Thanks! I can't see anything in my PM inbox yet, but I presume it'll come through soon...

Microsoft, Genius, Panasonic, Canon, Sony, etc. are the most reputable companies in the video recording products. Most of their products can fulfill your requirements. Just check their products which suits to your budget.
