1 camera port u/s

Recommended Posts

I have an 8 camera system, cables from camera to DVR with BNC connectors.

all 8 were working fine then number 8 stopped.

unplug 7 and 8 works

8 works solo so does 8 but not at the same time

swap cameras between 7 and 8 both work solo but not together. ?????

what could cause this?

All run off 1 power supply and 8 way splitter.

HDR has its own power. I’ve tried using 1 camera to it’s own power.

swapped them all around but 7 and 8 won’t work at the same time

Ok good that test says a lot

If 7 and 8 work independently but drops out if use both channels and you have done the test with other cameras it rules out faulty camera and cabling ….. it also rules out the channel chip …. ( on some units either 2 or 4 ) outputs share the same chip

so next test is recorder settings ….. if your recorder is over 5 years old you might have reached a limit

analog cvi tvi ahd are formats and some older units had a limit on how many you could set to each …. but also needed auto switching cameras

I would now look under camera settings on recorder and see if you have settings for tvi cvi ahd or cbs and start to alter those

on early dahua you could left click bottom left of each camera and pick the formate

I’ll have a look.

would that be a problem

as they all worked fine for about 6 months?

could it be a short if “both are plugged in?”

the camera image is black but has the date and time on the top of the screen the same as all the others with a picture.

Hi …… this is a different description of your problem in first post

Is it just one channel not showing a image

Neither 7 or 8 work at the same time.

7 works or 8 works whilst the other is black, but shows date and time.

unplug any camera to check and they all work but not 7 and & together
