Digital Watchdog with Lorex DVR

My Digital Watchdog DVR broke down, the model i have is discontinued and I was looking to replace it with Lorex DVR. 
Any idea if this should work or if I will need to stick to the digital watchdog brand?

Hi your old DW and the new lorex are both dahua (lorex is dahua)

are you going to replace camera at same time or later what is your budget

Hi thanks for responding here,

for now I don’t plan on replacing the cameras. I just wanted to know if my cameras would work with the Lorex DVR. 
I also imagine it depends on the type of cameras I have but I wanted to know in general if switching to Lorex from digital dogwatch should work.
