Pss software help

I have the pss 4.03 software loaded on my mac and I keep getting email sent every hour the subject is mail health test!! how can i make it stop!!!!

Unless its specific to PSS for the Mac there is no email feature in PSS.

Check the settings on the DVR, you should remove the email address and uncheck the enable box under Network, Email, to disable it sending email alerts. Check Advanced, abnormality for anything there that is sending email also.

I did check the dvr and can not find anything that would send the email ant other idea!!

You could completely remove your email from the DVR if you no longer use the email feature anymore.

I would like to use the email so i know when some one comes in!! NOW WHAT DO I DO

I had the same problem, but when I did a upgrade to firmware the problem was fixed.

Im not sure what the problem whas, but is gone now.

firmware update resets certain sections to default.

They need to look for the "Send Email" checkbox in the following areas:

Alarm - Local and Net

Detect - Motion, Video Loss, Masking

Abnormality - No Disk, Disk Error, Disk no space, Offline, IP conflicted

This is most likely a DVR feature when using email alerts. Certain firmwares will send just a email "health test" every hour to let you know the feature is working properly. Call the dealer or technical support for the DVR I am willing to bet they have a recent firmware that will not send health test's hourly. Just when your event(motion,alarm hd error etc.) is triggered.

Very neat. Think I'll try this on my pss I have about 20 tasks I use a lot.

Careful though as there is no config or any other buttons.

However, if you have a list of tasks, although none of the other system tray menu items work, and will crash the program (as they dont exist in this stripped down version), the tasks part of that menu does work. So you dont even need to put it on start, can just open the tweaked version, then using that menu select the task to start, pause, or switch between them.
