I never seen a 32 channel card that does 30fps on each camera... I think you are asking for too much given what's available in the market. The best I've seen is a 480 frame / 32 channel card. Send me a PM if you need more info.

I'm not sure if Geovision does this but our card can call you and play a message provided that you have a modem in the system.

25fps is more than enough (it will be real time, so it doesn't get better than that). A GV800-4 is what you are looking for if you plan to have 4 cameras.

Yup, Nvidia will not display correctly on their New Software Compression boards or MPG boards. Their lower end cards will only record half of the frames they're capabale of.

Try using an ATI radeon 9000. That should fix the problem. Also, you'll be ok if you use MSI boards with their software compression boards but don't use them with the hardware compression boards.

When choosing a DVR to resell you can't really buy the first thing you see. Do some research, see if the features the board and software offer meet your needs since it requires time and work to learn a DVR board and software inside out. In a nutshell, once you commit to a DVR it's hard to move to a different DVR. You also have to take into consideration how user friendly is the software since support will consume time (money). That's what I can think of for now...

There are a lot of offbrand DVRs that are pretty good quality if you take into consideration the price difference. There's always a risk that the DVR could be low quality, so that's why it's important for an integrator or reseller to form a relationship with a trusted distributor who offers a variety of products and can make recommendations.

Get a hardware compression DVR board if you want to minimize CPU usage. They cost more but they will only be using 5% to 10% of your CPU.

I still have to see a DVR that has a real "intelligent" motion detection software without any major flaws.

If you use a good hardware compression DVR board your CPU usage will be around 5% to 10%. It's gonna ost you more though.
