    How to hide IR cameras?

Hi, I notice that most security cameras that can record at night have a ring of infrared LED's around the camera to provide the require IR light. This is fine except I have a situation where I need to hide the cameras as much as possible, so they are not "noticed". At night although IR LED's are dim they still identify the presence of a camera. Is there anyway round this? Cheers PT
  2. Hi, I am looking for a security camera system that meets the following requirements. Anyone have any recomendaztions? - Record video night and day triggered by motion detection. - Store the recorded images/video on an FTP Server (which we will provide) or to a PC using some software?. Not to a dedicated hard disk recorder. - Store video recorded in a popular format such as MP4 or WMV. - Store images in .jpg format. - Have a web front end that can be accessed remotley in order to monitor the feeds/manage the the cameras. - Have an app that works on Android platforms so the cameras can be viewed from anywhere. - Supports at least 4 cameras. The are so many systems aout there I would appreciate any comments you guys have? Cheers PT

  4. Hi, I need to set up night vision camera with inbuilt IR LED's on the outside of a house/. The camera needs to be fully hidden so it can not be seen by anyone. I can obvioulsy hide the camera in many ways which is fine during the day, but at night the RED IR LEDS's can be seen. So... Is there any way to hide IR LEDS so they cannot be seen? At night they are very visible and give the location of the hidden camera. Thanks PT

    best CCTV for these requirements?

Hi I have a budget of around £500 uk pounds. What I find hard to work out is what are the differences between the various PVRs? I really need one that can store photos locally and send the to an ftp server. Based on my budget what choices do I have? cheers pt
  7. Hi, I am in the UK and looking to upgrade my home cctv system and am looking for some advice and suggestions on what best would fit my requirements. I would need: - At least 4 cameras (2 indoors 2 outdoors) with option to add more cameras later - To record motion capture images every second or so to a device like a DVR with a hard disk and to simultaneous upload to an ftp server (so I can have a copy of the images stored at home and a copy stored externally) - to be able to view all cameras throuhg one interface via a web browser from anywhere - to have descrete cameras that are small enough to be 'hidden' from view - if possible to be able to view the live feeds on a mobile phone - if possible to be powered over the same cable the feed the video signal as I don't wnat to have to install power outlests everywhere the cameras are (is this possible?) Up until now I have used devices from ICAMView which work ok but I now need a more professional and reliable system. Having look at companies like CPC who have loads of different dvr/camerra packages i am at a lost to know which ones I should be considering? for example: http://cpc.farnell.com/x-vision/s4-450d-e4tx-160/dvr-4-vandel-dome-netw-160gb/dp/SR0770405?Ntt=sr0770405 or http://cpc.farnell.com/swann-security/sw344-dps/dvr-320gb-hdd-4-cam-7-monitor/dp/SR0773305?Ntt=SR0773305 cheers PT
