  1. Just transferred a GV800 card and installed software 8.0.1 to a new hard disk. Same h/w and software I was running on old h/disk (which can be accessed but is unstable). I want to transfer the camera & system configuration to the new system (to save me setting it up again). Can anyone advise which files to copy?
  2. Hi all, Been running a GV804 system for 6 years. Motherboard has gone. Been through two since trying to get it to work. Realised G41 intel chipset not compatible. Looking to build another GV800 PC, but saw the compact DVR advertised. Can anyone advise whether the compact DVR is as feature rich as the GV800. Saves me building a new PC. I Don't use it for anything other than basic recording on a 4 channel system for business. Can anyone compare/contrast the two systems? Thanks in advance, FRX
  3. Have the manual. It describes push ftp I.e. DVR ftp's footage to the PC. I'm after pull ftp, driven by the user on the pc locating the files on the DVR and pulling them across.
  4. Does anyone know if i can browse/view the contents on the AVC761 harddisk from a PC in a file explorer window? Have tried unsuccessfully to ftp to the AVC761 using username:port and password.
  5. Hi, I recently purchased an AVC761 for home use and have it set to Event recording. Looking through the playback list there are a heap of events which don't really have anything in the picture. What I want to do is fine tune it so it only records when there is something in the picture. I havent changed the detection setup from default. Was wondering what the recommended settings are that other people are using for LS SS TS and RE. Currently set to: LS SS TS RE 07 03 02 10 FYI two cameras are day/night one day only. Thanks in advance! [/u][/b]
  6. Hi, Does anyone know of any IP camera software or PCI based DVR cards which support windows vista? Thx, FRX
  7. Hi, I'm a newbie and have read many posts on codecs, resolution, recording quality, etc. I understand the basics but want to know what the more experienced people would recommend for this particular setup. Environment is a food court within a busy shopping center. Four cameras set to record on motion. Three over the counter (aimed at cash register) and one over the rear door. I have a very high performance PC (core2duo) with 300GB dedicated to recording. My current settings are: Video resolution: 640x480 Recording quality: 3 (out of 5) Motion sensitivity: 7 (out of 10) Record video: GEO MPEG 4 (other avail options include GEO H264 / GEO MPEG 4 (ASP) Pre-record motion: 0s Post record motion: 3s Wanting to keep last 7-10 days of footage. What settings would the professionals use in such a setup and are there any others I should consider? Thanks in advance, Jarrad
  8. Thanks for your help rory! I had the video res set too high. I dropped it from 720x576 to 640x480 and it has resolved both those issues! Works like a dream.
  9. Hi, I'm having teething issues with a GV-800 card. Purchased a new PC according to the vendor's spec for the card and I have two technical issues. Issue 1: With four cameras connected watching the real-time feed, I receive an intermittent 'Video Lost' signal that lasts for 5-20 seconds. The signal can occur for any camera, one or two at a time. Occurs about every five minutes. Issue 2: Real time feed freezes and is jerky. Playback framerate is also lacking. Have played with the software settings to no avail. I can't roll this system out in its current state so please help. Customer wants it ASAP. The card vendor isn't back until 8th Jan. I haven't rolled out the system so it's setup next to me. I'm certain the issue is with the card or PC spec, not the cameras or cables. PC specification: Intel Core2 Duo E6400 LGA775 2.13GHz/2MB/1066FSB MSI 945GM3 - Intel945GM3-F LGA775 GigabitLAN/2xDDR2533/667. Has Intel GMA950 graphics on board.
