  1. I am using a Hikvision DS-7732NI-SP (firmware v3.3.1) with DS-2CD2T32 and DS-2CD2132F (with v5.3 firmware) cameras. I am trying to use the "smart event" triggering, e.g. line crossing that the cameras support. I have managed to get the events to trigger correctly and see them e.g. in the NVR logs. However, when I try to search for events in the NVR's "VCA Search" facility (which I think was a fairly new addition in the firmware), using Behaviour Search, I get an error message saying "No picture file found". This is despite having selected "Save VCA picture" under the line crossing settings. Has anyone had similar problems, or found a way to get the smart event / VCA search working on Hikvision NVRs? Thanks in advance.
  2. I am having trouble getting alarm notifications to come up in the Hikvision mobile app (ivms-4500, v4.0.1 for iPhone) for either motion detection or VCA (line crossing) events. On my NVR (DS-7732NI-SP, firmware 3.3.1), I can see in the log that the events are being correctly picked up by the NVR, and I can successfully get email alerts to be sent out when the events occur. However, on the mobile app, I can see the live feed, but the event notifications are not appearing. This is the same regardless whether the mobile app is on my home LAN network, or if I login using an OpenVPN connection to my network from WAN side (no ports are forwarded, and no EZVIZ cloud service is in use). Are there any other tricks that are required than ensuring the "Notify surveillance centre" option is selected in the linkage action section of the NVR's event menus, and then in ivms-4500 setting the alarm notification on? Does the app and the NVR know how to link up without further parameters, such as "alarm host port" or anything similar which I believe is used if a PC based monitoring software would be used. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  3. Hi, What are your experiences with motion detection on HikVision cameras? I have been testing out a Y-Cam Cube HD 1080 before buying a set of (both outdoor and indoor) cameras and the Y-Cam motion detection has been quite disappointing. For example, the Y-Cam triggers motion detection at least twice a day by the slow gradual change in daylight levels triggering a change between day and night mode. The Y-Cam motion detection does not seem clever enough to realise that there has been no sudden change in ambient light levels, so the camera's own mode change triggers a motion detection alarm, which is very annoying. I'm now thinking of buying some HikVision cameras as their specs seem decent value for money, but I would be interested in hearing what your experiences have been like with motion detection on HikVision cameras. Are HikVision's motion detection algorithms more 'smart' than those of Y-Cam, or are they similarly falsely triggered by a change in day/night mode? Obviously it'd be fair enough to trigger motion detection if there is a sudden change in actual light levels (a light shone on the camera, or switching lights on in a room etc.), but a night/day mode change should not trigger motion detection as part of slow natural trends in light levels. If HikVisions' algorithms also cause similar false triggers through day/night mode changes, do you have any camera ranges you'd recommend for consideration (e.g. with specs: bullet, outdoor, PoE, at least 720p, with WDR, IR range of 15-20m, <£500 a piece)? Thanks in advance.
