  1. If customer service and system reliability are better, I can probably deal with a narrow field of view as the cameras will mostly be monitoring doorways and not open areas. If customer service and product quality are lacking then it's back to the drawing board. Will the smaller lenses cause any other issues? Tom
  2. Hi guys, I've been reading quite a few older posts here and reviews elsewhere in the process of looking for a home security camera setup. Will be monitoring a 2100 square foot cape cod and a soon to be built 3000 square foot garage (all doors will be facing the house). I'd like to start with a 4-6 camera system for the house to start. Mainly interested in outside cameras. Most of the areas will have motion sensitive lighting as well. Still considering IR though. A security system will be getting installed as well. I'm not a techy but also not completely oblivious. I really don't have time to be fussing with setting up the computer end of things though so I'm looking for something relatively plug and play. Being able to monitor from my cell would be nice. I've considered piecing together a system but reading all the posts and concerns has got my head spinning regarding setting up ip addresses, forwarding them, etc. I have concerns about compatibility of mixing and matching components. I had about written off boxed systems after reading the bad reviews on customer service from Swann, Q-see, etc but then I saw the Revo System at Sams. I really want something HD, I want to be able to identify faces, etc. Why have a system that can't give you a decent image? I've not been able to find a lot of feedback doing searches on Revo? Has anyone used them, know if they are another mfgr rebranded? Any info on reliability, ease of setup, picture/camera quality, smart phone accessibility, etc? They say they have a setup program that makes the entire system fairly plug and play which would be a godsend right about now with trying to buy one house and getting the other ready for sale. The page at Sam's has more info it seems than the one at Revo: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/revo-8x4-1080p-2tb-3-bullet-1-dome/prod14470563.ip?navAction= http://www.revodirect.com/16-ch-hd-4tb-nvr-surveillance-system-with-built-in-8-ch-poe-switch-4-1080p-hd-bullet-cameras/ I'm probably looking for an 8 or even 16 channel dvr for the long run so I can expand to cover the garage. Any input or feedback is certainly appreciated. Tom
