  1. Hi all, I'm having a really bizarre problem and am at a loss for explanations, on 2 occasions the cable to one of my cameras has been cut. First I'd notice the camera would loose it's signal. I would check all the connections and everything is fine. My next though was that rats or mice might be chewing on the cable. Went outside to investigate and found that the cable has been cut cleanly as is it were done with a knife, razor or scissors I then suspected that vandals were breaking into the backyard and cutting the cable. So using the surveillance system itself, I narrowed down when the signal dropped and using the other cameras to see if anyone was doing it. Nothing to be found. Inspected the cable and environment to see something else was causing it. Again, nothing. Rest of the cable is in good condition. There's no reason I can think of (short of labeling it as supernatural) why it's happening and only affecting that one cable. Anyone else experience anything like this and might know what the culprit is?
  2. Then install them the right way, or do not install them at all. You might not find them on the ground after one hour, but if you do a poor installation job, just wait for a windy day to come... I bought the camera system, therefore I'll install them. You need to respect that I'm trying to respect my parents in that no holes will be put into the house. I don't accept that screwing the bracket into the eve is the "only" right way to install. I've used C clamps before. They provide a firm grip when tightened without damaging the house. Most likely that's the way I'm going to go. 2 clamps on both sides of the bracket plate should provide the same solid installation as screws. I have to install the cameras and respect my parents wishes.
  3. Thinking about bending metal L brackets into clips then attaching them underneath the overhang. Ill paint them white to match the painted surface. I've used duct tape before and the stuff doesn't stick for long. Unless there's a tape that actually adheres deep. I just don't want to find my cameras on the ground an hour after installing them.
  4. Bullet cameras. The eve's are wood. House surface is brick.
  5. I'm getting my surveillance system next week and am looking forward to installing the system. Here's the problem, it's my parents house and they don't like things being screwed into the house. I'm thinking about using C clamps. I want to use these sparingly as not to create an eyesore. Basically using the clamps on the camera brackets. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage the cable though. Tape is out of the question. It won't stick for long. So can someone give me tips on an installation that doesn't use screws and isn't showy but is effective at a solid installation?

    Hi from North Texas

After exploring the forum doesn't look to be very active. Lots of topics with no replies. Is this a forum where if I have an issue I can get peer support from other users or am I on the wrong forum?

    Hi from North Texas

Hello everybody. I'm new to surveillance systems. So here's how I got into surveillance, I've been a weather watcher for a while. Run a weather station for several years. I've run several webcams with my weather station to snap pictures of the current weather then upload to Wunderground.com. Then I became interested in what else is happening outside weather and non-weather related. Last year my neighbor had a vandal smash his windshield with a baseball bat and I caught him red handed. I'm becoming increasingly interested in what goes on outside my home. This morning I bit the bullet on a 200$ system with 16 channels with 8 cameras included with 1TB hard drive. Pretty good deal on what normally goes for 300-500$. I plan to expand the system as I see needed. The system is a Tigersecu system on eBay. They don't seem to have a website but the seller had good reviews and I couldn't find any negative feedback. Good enough for me. I should get the system next week. I'm excited. Looking forward to setting it up.
