    Dahua firmware

Hi Justin, Seems like you, helbet and myself are all trying the same thing. I am surprised yours came with 112014 firmware. All I have seen is 062014 from people on here, and as you say we have got as far as 122014 (mainly thanks to the good explanation by helbet). I've tried various English/Chinese PAL & NTSC firmware from 2015 and none of them have worked. I did get some limited success from one March firmware, but the font size in the overlay did not work. Plus I also managed to get a Chinese NTSC up, but when you looked in the webUI there was no firmware information at all - so have rolled back to 122015. Cheers, Mark

It sounds like this is a necessary step in being able to unpack the firmware, but I'm curious as to why? What's the archive format of the firmware? How exactly does this change enable unpacking this particular format? Justin Yeah I have to admit, I wasn't sure and was just following others. Though I just did a check, and for sure you cannot delete or overwrite anything in the archive (when it is renamed to zip), whereas when you do the hexedit you can change whatever you want..

As we discussed by PM, this version didn't work for me (though it transferred OK) - and reverted itself back to 20141205
  4. I just tried this (with a changed out check.img) and the file transferred and said it had updated (though when I eventually managed to log in it was still the same). Device Type IPC-HDW4300C Software Version 2.420.0004.0.R, build : 2014-11-03 WEB Version 3.2.1.229556 ONVIF Version 2.4.1
  5. Thanks to Helbet, I also managed to update using these instructions (and pulling the check.img from an old firmware). Just wondering when the next general FW will appear?

Good job! Anyway, nothing seems to be changed in functionality.. Maybe IVS from 2015 firmware would be a nice improvement! Hi Helbet, I tried a number of DH firmwares last night, and all said they were updating... but when I checked it was still 2.420.0005.0.R. I guess we need to wait for the next 'general' firmware?

Thanks again Helbet, After a telnet session and some file editing..... Software Version 2.420.0005.0.R, build : 2014-12-05 WEB Version 3.2.1.237466 ONVIF Version 2.4.1 So to recap what I did: Found and downloaded both the original and new firmware files. Edited both in a hex editor to change DH to PK on line 1. Renamed both to zips to enable deleting check.img natively within windows, and copying check.img from the old firmware to the new one. Renamed new firmware back to .bin then hex edited PK back to DH. This modified firmware then uploaded without issue using the config tool on port 3800. Following this, the unit appeared bricked, and as per the instructions telnet in and modified the files as per http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45089 , then reboot.

Hi Helbet, So modify the bin file using the hex editor (I used the plug-in for Notepad++) then rename to a zip file to pull and change out check.img? Did you pull the original images/firmware from the camera or did you find it online? Cheers, Mark Edit: OK it worked! I used the following firmware to pull the check.img!!! http://www.panduoduo.net/r/10150504 http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=1755431191&uk=4127330429&fid=212860137122400

I modified 2014.12 firmware from V1 to be used on V2. But, after burning this firmware there are some steps to make to recover web interface and English help. Hi Helbet, I did a search through your posts and did not see if you posted instructions for this. I would very much like to try. I did find this link: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45089 Is this all I need to do?

    Dahua firmware

Hi there! nofire, could you please tell me if this firmware will work on my Dahua 4300s V2? Software Version 2.420.0002.0.R, build : 2014-06-21 WEB Version 3.2.4.184667 ONVIF Version 2.4.1 My camera has English Web Interface, but all the files from firmware are somethink like ''chinesse''.. I tried to flash firmware from V1 with no luck: Upgrade failed. Also.. Could you please tell me witch is the latest firmware available for this 4300s V2? Thanks a lot! I've tried firmware from both of these sources for my 4300S V2 and neither of them will work/install: ftp://ftp.asm.cz/Dahua/kamerove_systemy/_Firmware/04IPC/ http://www.allbuyer.co.uk/downloads.html#null) (this link was working last night, but not now) .........wow, hold on. I literally just tried ftp://ftp.asm.cz/Dahua/kamerove_systemy/_Firmware/04IPC/IPC-HX5(4)XXX/DH/1507/DH_IPC-HX5(4)XXX_Eng_P_Stream3_IVS_V2.420.0000.10.R.20150715.bin and it transferred... now it is (config tool) stuck at 'System is upgrading now. Please wait' IPC-HFW4300S-V2 Software Version 2.420.0002.0.R, build : 2014-06-21 WEB Version 3.2.4.184667 ONVIF Version 2.4.1

    Dahua firmware

Hi there, I have three IPC-HFW4300S-V2 and cannot for the life of me load any of the new English PAL firmware. It always comes up with the error "File unmatch, Upgrade failed! Some functions have been closed, reboot device now?" I tried with both the web ui and ConfigTool (and tried port 3800 too), but never get any joy at all... The reason I wanted to update is because for some reason my video settings change (on their own) every few days. Normally I restore the default settings, then change the resolution to 3M and save, but after a few days it drops back down to less than default (1280x1024)..... apart from this I am more than happy. Any help would be much appreciated. Software Version 2.420.0002.0.R, build : 2014-06-21 WEB Version 3.2.4.184667 ONVIF Version 2.4.1
