    Alienultra 638 password help please

Thanks for the reply, fortunately just yesterday alien forwarded me the original installers details of whom provided me with the admin password. Thanks for the tip i will keep that in mind incase i ever forget the password
  2. Hi Im relatively knew to CCTV systems so forgive me if i sound a little uneducated on the topic, anyway i have a 5 camera system all running at the highest quality settings at 12 FPS and 4cif resolution. I don't know anything about the quality of the cameras although they are not very detailed they easily pick up number plates, faces etc. However one of the cameras is a dome one and the quality of it is absolutely ****e to the point where it can barely pickup a number plate unless within 3-4m distance of it making it pointless in that respect. Now i don't feel the need to splash out on a new set of hd cameras and hd dvr however i do feel the need to change the dome camera as by the looks of it it also appears to be rather old and dated. Now the system is currently running at 4CIF and not D1 due to there being more than 2 cameras according to the manual so my question is that is there a cutoff line in terms of camera TVL on a 4CIF resolution from when on a higher TVL wont be beneficial to the low 4cif resolution? if so what is this TVL cutoff? Thanks

    Alienultra 638 password help please

An update on this, I contacted aleindvr in order to see if they could help but they said that the only way they can do it is if i send it off to them but were quoting prices worth more than a replacement dvr, if anyone knows a way around could you please let me know Thanks
  4. Hi I recently purchased a property last week of which came with a fully fitted camera and dedicated alienultra 608 dvr system however the other day I decided to review some footage from when i was prompted for a password i then realized i cant do pretty much anything on the box without the password making it pretty much useless as it is. I read the manual online and tried the default pass of 12345 to no avail, i also opened the dvr and removed the battery to reset the BIOS still that didn't do the trick. I also cannot get hold of the previous owner as they have emigrated to Europe somewhere. Can anyone help with this? the old footage is not important to me so is there a way perhaps where i can wipe and reset it all to factory settings? is there a way to recover the password by other means? Thanks p.s. serial number is: bts60566
