  1. Oh and I forgot to ask, do you know why the current custom pc based dvr could have fps troubles with record/display material? The frames are jumping from 2 to 12 but usually on the bottom line. Is it a configuration issue (haven't found anything improving it) or performance issue?
  2. Thanks guys! I found 2 companies that could suit us, what are your thoughts about http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/dvr780478087816s-u-460.html cant find a reasonable difference, maybe you can? http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/dvr78087816s-urh-730.html http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_225_i4586.html The hikvision looks a bit more basic (cost 350 pounds/550 dollar) than the first dahua (520 pounds/805 dollar). Are they good? Is one better? Could I get better one for the budget? Do you know a good outdoor camera with the following specs? (maybe from hikvision or dahua?) -day and night -WDR (important for numberplates at night) -PTZ (pan tilt zoom) -1080p -ip -weatherproof -price/quality balance I have tried to find some but I am a bit lost with the variety and dont have any experience whether its good or not (unfortunately often without reviews).
  3. I am working in south england. My boss said, he would rather run 2 different systems than throwing the old one away ... The hybrid one would be a nice idea, do you know a good one under 1000 pound? It should have 32 analog channels because we have 24 cameras. I think a pc system that can handle both could be more complex and expensive, wouldn't be? I would prefer to buy everything new but when I confront them with about 4000+ pounds they rather would stay with the old ones. I have to try my best to work with their needs.
  4. Hello community, I am an intern in a small distribution company and have to help them with their cctv system. They have about 11 Sunkwang Cameras and about 12 dome cameras from different brands. All are analog and recording on a old custom pc system with cctv cards and custom OS. They would like to get remote access to the cameras and 1-2 new 1080p cameras for outside the building that can record number plates in the dark, so I thought they need to get rid of the old custom pc/dvr thing and get some analog to ip encoder + NVR and maybe a NAS. What are you thinking about it? Can you give me some recommendations for encoder/outdoor ip camera/NVR or other needed hardware/software? Is there maybe a better option? And as always, they want avoid high costs. (I know...) I hope you can help me, I am a bit lost and dont want to make a mistake that could cost them unnecessary money.
