Hello all, this is my first post on this forum as I just found it, and the tons of great info but I need help in designing my camera system
I have a single story house on a 1 acre lot. During construction I ran CAT6 wires all over the place, with stub outs at each corner of the house (mostly a square floor plan). I also have a bunch of CAT6 in the attic run above all the rooms. So I am looking for an IP system so I can use the existing CAT6 lines, but if needed i could put in baluns if there are better options.
I am looking for at least a 16 channel system (8 outside and up to 8 inside) with the outside cameras having good night vision and decent range as I have a large lot. I would like a system I can access via a web browser or Android app but also has the storage and access on site.
Would I be better off piecing a system together or buying a package with cams and NVR and adding on as needed? What things should look for in NVRs and cameras?
