  1. Anybody here can help me? I tried moving the camera on another port in the dvr, adjusting the sensitivity and updating the firmware but still no go. It will record the detected motion only for a few minutes, then no more. It's weird because the detection icon is on when there's motion.
  2. Hi! I have this Avtech KPD674 and 3 cameras connected. Motion detection works fine on camera 1 and 3 but somehow motion detected on camera 2 does not appear not the list. This camera is located in an office and has more traffic than the other cameras but I can't seem to find the recorded video even after seeing the motion detection icon appeared. I adjusted the sensitivity and still the same. I'm just wondering if this is a problem with the camera or the DVR settings??
  3. Thanks. I don't remember the actual specs but it's one of those generic type with Sharp CCD which looks similar to this: Anyway, I managed to improve the video somehow by removing the front glass housing and tilting it downwards a little. The glare is still there but it's not as bad as before. At least I can now view the parts without the glare.

Two cameras 1 meter apart using UTP

Thanks. I guess you're right - it would be better to use a junction box. I think the cause of my interference is the low quality coax cable. I used a cheap one and I believe the outer conductors are not made of copper - aluminum? Will I be better off replacing it with a better coax? I used this ordinary cctv camera in waterproof housing. I may not use utp to feed the power since I already have an existing line and I can still use it.
  5. I used to have a fairly usable video from my camera pointing at the gate until the government installed a very bright lamp post just outside the gate. Now, my camera is almost blind at night and all I can see is a blob of bright light. I tried to adjust the brightness settings but this doesn't seem to help. Is there a way to correct this? Would a camera with auto iris help?
  6. I'm planning to upgrade my outdoor cable from coax to UTP due to problems with interference. I inadvertently used a cheap low quality coax for my setup and I figured I might as well replace them with UTP. The two cameras are located about 30meters away from my DVR. If I want to use a single UTP for the two cameras which are about a meter apart facing opposite directions, what is the correct way to do it? It is ok to strip the UTP at around 1/2meter for the tip and feed two pairs to camera 1 and another two pairs to camera 2 like this? Will this solve my interference problem?
  7. I just purchased a 4ch h264 dvr. Every went well except the video viewer software won't run on my pc. Whenever I click on the icon, nothing happens. My PC is a bit old. pentium4 w2ghz running on Windows xp. Could this be the cause of the problem? The older software video server e for my old dvr the broke down ran on my pc without problem. Can I still use this software for my new dvr?
  8. I just got my replacement HDD (IDE) but I'm still running into some problems. Whenever I plug in my HDD I get the ff: Master: ok -> Fixing HDD -> ok Slave: NA Detecting Slave 2 HDD Ok then it cycles back to: Master: ok Slave:NA Detecting Slave 2 HDD: NEASE Format Master: Ok Slave: NA Detecting Slave 2 HDD: NA HDD error Beeps and goes back to self test I tried setting my HDD as master and slave but still the same. Does it have something to do with the HD formatting or is the DVR busted? The completes the boot-up procedure if no HD is installed.
  9. Thanks. I was finally able to confirm that the HDD was indeed broken by using the DOS version of Seatools. I had it RMA'ed and is now on it's way back to Seagate. Now my concern is since Seagate will be sending me a refurbished replacement HDD, I suppose it will come back in formatted state? How do I unformat it so the DVR will be able to read it?
  10. I get this please wait- HDD scanning" error whenever I try to access my DVR. Does this mean my HD is broken or my DVR is malfunctioning? I tried installing the HD on my PC and was able to reformat the drive and I managed to read and write some test files. I tried testing the drive using Seagate's SeaTools and the drive passed the test BUT whenever I restart my PC the BIOS SMART utility tells me the drive has problem. I'm going have the drive RMA'ed if it's really the cause of the problem but how can I confirm this? I have no extra HD to test the DVR.

AVC760 Video Server E Full Screen

Oh thanks! Stupid me, I tried hitting as many random keys to do that but I missed the obvious one.
  12. I view the video from my AVC760 through my 19" widescreen pc monitor using Video Server E software. The video occupies only about a third of the screen and I find it too small. I just realized that there is full screen view and I find it useful. The problem is I can't seem to get out of full screen. I can't access the controls and the minimize icon so the only way I can get out or make the screen smaller is to use the task manager and kill the program. Is there any other way to do this? I searched the manual and there seems to be no mention on how to do this. Thanks

    AVC760 OSD language problem

Thanks. I already tried following the instructions but it seems the unit I've got does is locked to traditional Chinese. There are no other option in the menu but Chinese.
