    BNC connector questions

Thanks for the info! It looks like our most recent roll of direct burial cable had a much harder and inflexible outer layer than the previous (even though it's same manufacturer and part number). That was enough to mess everything up the compression fittings we had on hand. We got some RG59 screw on connectors and were able to get a proper connection with them. All is good now, and signal is nice and crisp and clear. Connection is in a good quality waterproof junction box now - so hopefully we are done installing cameras for a while. Thanks for the help!
  2. I need to attach BNC connectors to RG 59 direct burial cable for my home system, and have been having an awful failure rate with compression fittings. This seems to be linked to our current roll of direct burial cable as a previous one only had a few failures while setting up numerous cameras. I now have a set of twist fittings ordered through Amazon, but accidently ordered RG6 twist fittings at first (and can't cancel the order). So we'll have RG6 twist fittings here on Monday, RG59 arriving Wednesday. Can RG6 fittings possibly be used on RG59 direct burial cable? If so, what are the watchouts in using them instead of RG59 fittings? Thanks!
