    Monitor button status hide???

I think, there is no way to hide monitor status. Whats the point in having a hidden camera when it's so easily seen? Total flaw if you ask me.
  3. When you hit the "Monitor" button it shows the names of all the cameras and their status. I have some hidden cameras I would like to not show up on that list. Is there any way to do this?
  4. I have a Canon VC-C4 camera with RS232 inputs. What is involved in hooking up and controlling it with a Geovision system. I'll probably end up using the combo card. thanks!
  5. I won't sell a client anything but a dedicated computer to act as a DVR. I try to set it up to work as efficiently as possible. Here are some of the things I do. Any other suggestions to make the DVR work better? - Remove all "demo" programs and all other programs that are not used to run or view the system. - Change XP properties to "highest performance". Basically gets rid of all the pretty GUI stuff. - Remove all windows components that aren't needed, "i.e. outlook express, messenger, MSN, etc.) - Turn off screen saver - Set computer to "always on". - Defrag hard drive if needed. I'm sure there's more but I wanted to see what else you all do to increase effectiveness and performance of the system. Thanks!

yup, it's a connection over the internet. At the remote location I can connect properly with one computer and not another in the same room.
  7. I am having problem with remote playback on a single computer. I can log in, and pull up the calendar of events but nothing happens when i click on an event to play it. this is only happening on a single computer. Any suggestions? Is there a way to clean out the components downloaded to that computer and let them reinstall or something? Thanks

    Geovision remote view problem

Hmmm...now it works! I still can't get images on my blackberry like I can with my other systems like this but I imagine that has something to do with the way it handles ports. Sal, let me know if you still want the IP. I can PM it to you. I sure got some great troubleshooting tips with this thread, thanks so much!

    Geovision remote view problem

I've changed the port in the DVR software to 81 which shows open. I'll check DNS server info. I'll try that right now.

    Geovision remote view problem

Yup. Traffic is definately heading to the correct machine. It seems as through there is a problem as soon as I change the default HTTP Port to anything besides the default 80. I'm stumped. The ipconfig on the DVR is as follows: IP: 192.168.1.101 (ports forwarded on router to this machine) Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Geovision remote view problem

OK, reset the router and was able to set forwarding to allow ports to be opened. Now when I try to access the dvr remotely (outside LAN) I'm getting a HTTP Error 403 Forbidden and Access Denied. Ug!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions? This is crazy. I've never had this trouble getting connected remotely.

That doesn't work!?! I can reach the DVR using the LAN IP address of another computer on the network. Any suggestions as to why my router isn't opening ports?

    Geovision remote view problem

what in the world? I still get "stealth" on all the opened ports, even when forwarded. Its a linksys BEFW11S4. The regular software works fine. I can use it from computer to computer in my LAN. I can't figure out why the ports aren't showing open. I'm using the "Forwarding" section of the router.
