I need help with chinese ip camera

Recommended Posts

The brand of the camera is "Janrs JA B1080", if i connect to a "telnet" service on port 9527 i can see the version:

ver ---- V4.02.R11.00001532, [000 01 532]

Version: V4.02.R11.00001532.10010, BuildTime: 2013-12-31 15:26:55

This cam is ONVIF compatible.

My final goal is to connect this cam with raspberry pi 2 and motion software. I have rebuild the latest svn version of motion that has the support for RTSP stream but it seems mutch heavy for the raspberry (70% CPU whithout motion, 100% cpu when motion is detected).

I would obtain a simple jpg snapshot that motion software can elaborate with low cpu consumption, but this cam seems don't offer this service [i checked it with a call to GetServerCapabilities of the onvif webservice].

I've tryed to upload the images via ftp protocol to raspberry but it seem's don't work (i have configured all but looking ftp log i don't see any connection).

I've tryed to decode rtsp stream to image with ffmpeg but the cpu consumption is also hight.

With onvif webservice i've tryed to change the encode format to jpg and i don't receive error but the settings don't change.

I've searched for manufacturer website to look for a firmware update, but i have not found the site!

Other info:

- For configure the cam i use CMS Client

- I've tryed also ONVIF Device Manager, this software tell me that the cam is NVS - V100

- i've buyed a used cam, i have no contact of the "official" seller

Can anyone help me to fing an upgraded firmware?

Can anyone tell me (if is possible) change the firmware with the firmware of another compatible cam?

Can Anyone tell me if there is another method for get a jpeg image from this cam?

I have no more ideas, please help me.

Thanks to all

Sorry for my bad english

Biagio

I have the same problem with a chinees ip cam, same firmware..

Can not connect it with anything else than the CMS software...

I hate the cam!! waste of money!

Onvif is NOT working. It uses a incompatible quicktime protocol. Green screen..

If someone can help me with this I would be very happy!
