 Post subject: Lorex NR9163 - Camera Subnet Access

I have a Lorex NR9163 NVR with 12 cameras connected. I'd like to access the configuration pages of my cameras directly from my laptop, but it looks like the NVR blocks access to the cameras connected to its POE ports. Web requests and pings time out.

My network layout is as follows:
  1. Home Network Subnet (assigned by primary router): 192.168.5.0/24. NVR and laptop are on this network.
  2. Camera Subnet (assigned by NVR switch/router): 10.1.1.0/24

I've tried (without success):
  1. Accessing cameras with at 10.1.1.x from my laptop on the
  2. Plugging my laptop into an empty port on the back of the NVR and accessing cameras.
  3. Configuring a static route in my router for 10.1.1.0/24 (next hop to 192.168.5.5, the NVR's IP).
  4. Manually assigning a 10.1.1.x IP address to my laptop with subnet 255.255.255.0.

Unfortunately, Lorex NVRs do not offer the "Virtual Host" function available on the Hikvision branded units.

My questions are:
  1. Any ideas on how to access my camera configuration pages directly without plugging them directly into my primary home network switch?
  2. Is there any way to SSH into the NVR? Shell access seems to be disabled.
  3. Can I flash Hikvision's firmware to the NVR? If so, what is the Hikvision equivalent model number?
  4. Can the NVR be configured to forward DHCP requests to my primary router?
