  1. I have it installed - i got it locally from my distributor here in Queens NY. They are o.k - make sure you get the latest firmware installed. Pic quality is o.k in the day - at night its pretty bad. The touch button is not that sensitive so you may have to "mash" it a little. Also you have to use dahua poe switch with this unit and the indoor stations. You can use a 4, 8 and 12 Port Passive midspan Power over Ethernet POE injectors - do a google search on this - way cheaper than the dahua poe switch.

  2. You may also want to take a look at the this camera. I have it installed in my backyard and it does a pretty good job at night with little to no light.

  3. Hey Guys, anyone used this camera in any installs. I want to compare this unit to the WZ20 camera. I installed another WZ20 camera but the adjustments are a real pain(i broke both the mail screw and also the allen screw ).

I want to use the EZ550 instead of the WZ20. Thanks in advance for any feedback on this.

  4. Thank you Soundy and Rory for the reply. Unfortunately it did not come with the service cable.

Soundy, i know the type of cable you are talking about, i've used it for Nuvico camera's. This model does not accept that type of cable(looks like a headphone jack). After looking at it closely it looks like the 2 pin connector, sort of what CNB uses.

Rory, i will definitely try to make my own cable. When i called Bosch, they werent sure if it did come with a service port. When i checked the schematics it said Video 2 so I am hoping i can use that. The camera is mounted very high up and I need the service port to adjust the camera.

Gents thanks again for reply, i'm a newbie at this so i really appreciate it.

What kind of connector does it use?

Most Pelco domes I've seen use a 2.5mm submini TS (aka headphone) plug - readily available from most electronics suppliers. A number of others use a two-pin connector and actually include the "adapter" cable - I have dozens of these.

  5. hey guys, can someone please recommend a good IR or any type of camera to cover a 90 X 75 foot driveway(minimal light when dark, (Hampton's in NY). After some research on the forum, I was thinking of getting a Bosch(Extreme CCTV) WZ20 camera.

Also whats a good brand of CCTV cable to get. Many Thanks

  6. Thanks for the Tips C7 in CA.

As for the parking lot situation, i think he just wants to see a general view of the lot. Is there any IR camera's you would suggest for this type of install. Oh, he does want a fairly large camera(physical size) so people can actually the camera's. Thanks

  7. Hey Guys, i've been browsing the forum and appreciate the wealth of info you guys share here.

I'm in the process of building a system for a friend of mine. He has a doctors office and I normally take care of his server and P.C's. He needs 2 outdoor IR camera's to cover a 25 by 75 lot he uses in the back of his office. I was looking at superc!rcu!ts and saw the following IR camera model - PC177IRHR-6

1/3" Sony CCD chipset provides 480 lines of resolution - 6mm lense

    240 ft IR range

    Built-in IR on/off control

    Weatherproof case IP66 rated

I'll be pairing the above with 2 dome ir camera's(superc!rcu!ts) for the front of his location. Dimensions for the front of the office is 25 by 75.

Dome Camera's - Sharp chipsets produce 520 lines resolution and 0 lux

Dome camera has a 4-9mm varifocal lens with a 45 degree FOV

The DVR i chose is DMR31DVD with network connection. As for the wiring i took scorpion's advise on getting 95% cooper cabling.

With the above camera's and dvr do you guys think this a good setup for good picture quality. Also any use any of these camera's on Install's before.

BTW, i'll be using a Vizio 26" TV for the display. Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.
