  1. First time reading this thread.

    Hi, guys!

Fun stuff, and everybody is right.

I am neither for or against this new HD-SDI technology.

Maybe some images will give refreshing sense.

Connection image is capture with 720p HD-SDI camera connected to HD-SDI DVR.

  2. Hello,

    this is Andy from NetPromax.

    Thanks for using NetPromax products.

Unfortunately FX series does not work on Mac.

You will need Parallel+Windows Full version to run FX client on Mac. (Must have Intel CPU)

There is currently no plan for Mac integration.

FYI, Parallel is a must-have app for Mac in my opinion, and this is still cheaper than having DVR that has Mac-compatible client software. (Which may not be as good anyways)

    For any question, post here.

    thank you.

  3. FX client requires 1024x768 32 bit resolution on XP/2000.

There is unknown compatibility with Vista. On some versions of Vista it works fine, but not on all. We are currently working on fix.

Yes, it does use overlay / directDraw, but even without it, it should show images (A little degraded) on remote client.

Check on the server if you enabled hiding cameras for specific user name.(Setup->Network->Edit on Remote Access users)

    It should work.

If necessary, you might have to reset settings on client.

PM me for instruction on that.

  4. This is power issue.

That location might be doomed to have this problem.

Get 1.5Amp transformer, and connect just one camera next to DVR. Short cable to test it.

If it's still the same with this test, the camera's internal power is not up to task, and might have come from defective line of production.

    it happens.

  5. Please contact directly to Netpromax, and we will figure it out.

By the way, can you give model number of the card?

Our card program is not promoted to the public, and is available only to the security integrators who ask fo it.

You will still get direct support until there is some resolution.

I apologize if you had difficulty contacting us.

    Please contact me ASAP.

    -----------------------

DVR spec requirement MUST be matched!

    Intel CPU

    Intel Chipset 800 series

    ATI Radeon 7000 or better

    256 MB RAM minimum.

    Remove all applications.

Remove zonealarm. Disable Windows firewall or open ports 2002-2004 in windows firewall.

If you have XP SP2, it is safe to trust router's firewall.

Networking relatively easy with Netpromax. Please call or email.

  6. The thing is they have to use PC based DVR to integrate security camera, interview room cameras, and network it.

I have not seen any DVR that records audio in sync without any delay, including ours which gives 0.5 to 1 second delay.

I was wondering if anyone had experience with interview room for court or police, and what equipment used.

  7. There is one issue to look into. Most of DVR software including client software have frame transmission limit. You must contact manufacturer to see what the limitation is. Total frame number that can be streamed is usually between 10 to 60. It depends on manufacturers.

  8. Video Insight is better than Geo.

    Software running DVR is better.

Not about the bells and whistles, and numbers.

It is written with better stability, and the cards from Video Insight produces better picture quality in same hardware environment.

Tech support is major strength as well.

If you want a solid system, build with Insight.

  9. Are you using LAN IP? or WAN IP?

I would prefer using LAN connection which reduces disconnection..

    1. FX CLient is required to connect and view

    2. Auto login feature is not available in current version. You can set up groups with different camera settings. Add new site with one of the DVR IPs. (This probably will become group 4) Go to set up, and configure cameras from any of 3 DVRs. On the right top you will see group pullout box. Once you make connections to all 3 DVRs and the 4th one with custom conf, you can switch between these groups. Do the same for alternate configuration. This is useful to view only significant areas for monitoring. Another option will be multiple clients. You can launch as many client software as possible, and you can drag them around on screen. If you have multiple monitors, you can view various sets of cameras on all the clients launched.

    3. We did not build any timeout in software. Disconnection msg pops only when the connection is too slow or lost. Let me know if you set it up with LAN or WAN IP.

    Thanks.

  10. GUI design was major spark toward our success.

    Simplicity is the key.

As mentioned it is a good idea to hide advanced features.

Beneath the surface needs solid mechanism that takes less resource and deliver image properly.

A few things to consider in building software.

    Analog-> Digital conversion

Converted digital video -> Live feed with no loss of frame

-> Recording with no loss of frame

(Buffering has to be well considered)

Motion trigger : What scale of sensor grid? How to draw motion sensing zone? Pre- or Post- motion recording? CPU and OS handling? Time sync?

    etc...

I will send snapshot of our GUI if you PM.
