  1.

I wouldn't install this one on your dvr. We have tested it yesterday on a couple of models and they all meet a serious problem with the BNC output after we updated them. On the VGA it looks fine, but BNC is nothing more than unbelievable terrible... Everything shows up double... Did you tested this version.

I have tried this version 1008. It works fine on my dvrs. i am guessing that the double image issue sounds like the dvr switch to PAL after upgrade.

  2. I figured out what the problem is. Whenever more than one person is logged in at a time the dvr gets slower. Can this be fixed with a better upload internet speed, or is this a limitation of the dvr itself?

do you know the upload speed for your current internet connection? if it's only 512K, then upgrade the network speed is definitely help.

    cheers,

  3. Guys I hope you can help me.

I am taking over a position where the last person changed the admin password and did not provide me any information. I havent been able to reset the admin password from the two other accounts because none of them have admin rigths. In the forum someone suggest reinstaling the software but I have done this two times deleting any trace in the computer and for some extrange reason when I reinstall the program it is keeping the information about the previous accounts.

if you want to change saved user name and password, just select the ip address on the address book, and click on "edit" to change it.

if you don't have admin password, you would need to reset your DVR back to default then. usually you can find "reset default" in the DVR menu > system.

    cheers,

  4. feel sorry about your story.

CPD507HC seems like older phased out model. I got my last order of CPD507HC from CPcam like almost 3 years ago.

From my own experience dealing with CPcam.....

if the DVR has hardware issue and the warranty is expired, there is not much they can do except asking you to contact your original dealer. of course, if you pay them to replace a new main board, that's another story.

Good luck for you and your new love.

  5. I have read many posts here and learned a lot. Really appreciate.

I got a question about the color on my outdoor camera. I installed a Hi-Res. outdoor camera AVC872 with a 5-50mm DC auto-iris lens. Everything looks perfect at night, but the color is like washed out and the image become blurry at day time. I have tried all the switches on the camera, but still ugly under sunshine.

why is that happened? Is there anything I could do on the camera or lens? or just return it to my supplier?

    Thank you

    JK

  6. This DVR doesn't support more than 1GB USB drive or any external HD. When you plug in compatible USB drive, there is pop up message " USB Connect" on your screen.

for the network, just make sure you are able to search out device from video server E software. if you can not search for it, check out your physical connection and try with a new ethernet cable.

  7. Anyone know about Viewgate 32ch 240fps card? I need to connect an avtech PTZ camera (AVP311) on it but just can make it work.

the protocol is pelco-D and ID on camera is 001. I put those setting to DVR but no response from the camera.

I connect this camera to a AVtech dvr and it is working fine, so the camera is ok. I just don't know where did i go wrong.

could anyone help me on this please. need to have this job done before weekend. thx so much.

  8. any anti-virus software or firewall running on the remote PC?

Check the status page on your router. If you see a private IP (i.e. 192.168.1.47) taking space of external IP on your router, then you probably need to create another port forwarding on you modem. Verizon's modem sometimes is also running as a router.

Or, give a try to reboot your router. home-use router sometimes need to restart to be waked up.

  9. personally, i have tried this dvr. just like other avtech dvr, this one could upload snapshot to a ftp server when there is event or alarm.

So, maybe you could try to make a timer,so it will send out a signal to DVR I/O (false alarm). then DVR will take it as alarm in, so you would have your snapshot to the ftp whenever you want.

    just a little fantasy here.
