  1. Hi there,

Need some help again, i have a pelco 5100 dvr setup need to have remote viewing on pc and (mobile as well if possible).

The customer seems to think it can be done on mobile although i am not so sure.

From what i have gathered there is 2 connection methods, secure using a vpn connection which is endura network, and un secure the stand alone method.

I have the wan ip, ip of dvr and remote key for software, i also have putty to ssh but cannot connect.

I believe the software uses port 27235 but am not 100% on this, dont have any idea of port used for SSH

I want to connect using remote client and normally i open the relevant ports on router and forward to dvr, install remote client and done.

However on this dvr there is no where to choose port numbers, i will be using a dns resolver as they have dyanmic wan ip address.

I am sure someone on here has setup these before and is able to help, thanks in advance.

  2. the best option would be a mains power network adaptor, however this will not work if the socket ring is on different circuits, the other way is to use wireless-n ethernet bridge however there will a loss if you are too far from router, you did not mention distance from router as this will help offer solutions.

  3. I have 3 dvr's 1= 8ch, 2=4ch 3=4ch

They need to view all 16 cameras over 2 monitors and add a additional 2 monitor / tv to 1st floor.

My solution is a muliplexer on dvr 1 and 2 output and feed 2 monitors by splitting output. Then take one more wire on dvr 3 to first floor and feed the other monitor.

This way they have identical view upstairs / downstairs. I can use split screen or sequence to view 12 cameras.

Any suggestions or better way to do this are welcomed ?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. You need to know what port the application is using and then open that open that open on your router. this site will help you http://portforward.com/default.htm

Then sign up for a dyndns account here http://www.noip.com/ you will install the client on pc on same network as dvr. If the dvr supports dyndns then you can enter details into dvr.

Once all is done switch wifi off on mobile and test.

An example of you address is

    http://homedvr.noip.com:1824

If your still stuck message me

  5. There are two way to view remotely:

    1) using static wan ip address i.e. 84.123.456.789:80

the :80 being the port number, if you do not have static ip after a while you ip address will change, see www.mywanip.com

    2) using a dns resolver service such as http://www.no-ip.com/ and http://www.dyndns.com/ which instead of ip gives you an address such as honeywell-dyndns.office.org:80 downside being you will have to have install update utility on dvy or local pc where dvr is located.

hope that helps post back and let us know so that others can benefit from the information

  6. Hi,

sound like you wan ip address has changed, easy solution on lan pc type www.mywanip.com make a note of ip for example: 80.123.456.789 and then try to acess using port numer like this

80.123.456.789:80 or 80.123.456.789:5000 i normally use ports above 5000 to avoid problems, if that works then you have two options one is to pay isp for static ip address or use no-ip or dyndns both are free after registration and can be found by google.

let me know if you resolved or still stuck.
