Wireless has been nothing but hassles for me. I've converted over to all wired cameras.

Costco carries some cheap consumer grade DVRs that aren't too bad.

I have a QSD-9004 Q-see DVR. I discovered you can telnet into the Linux OS running on this thing. Probably other Q-see models are the same OS. Head over here for the telnet password and start discussing the possibiliies of hacking linux: http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/q_see_hack
