    Honeywell FVMS Help!

Hi Demian, Try using the "Save" function in the search page: If you right-click on the HRDP in your device list, and navigate to the time you want to save, you can click "Save" and choose to export as an AVI. Let me know if this works for you.
  2. I am working with some cameras that are supposed to be ONFIV compliant, and would like to verify the compliance. Does anyone know of any ONVIF ready NVR software that has a free trial, or is freeware? I've been looking, and I can find the AVerMedia Fee Trial software and the Milestone freeware, any recommendations?
  3. If I was going checking the voltage of a camera's out, I'd put one multimeter probe on the outside of the BNC connector, and the other - very carefully - on the inner core of BNC connector. But, I have a Camera Master: http://www.securityideas.com/fmsycmcamaii.html which measures composite signal IRE (140IRE being 1v pk-pk).

    Sony EFFIO

There are a few cameras out there with the current Effio in them. The current one is only 540TVL (only!), which looks pretty good. I know of a company that sells those, PM me if you'd like that information.
  5. I'm a big proponent of a dedicated network for NVR solutions, but you know how some people just think they can add an NVR to their existing infrastructure. Though MP cameras do make it easier to sell a dedicated network.

    Video Wall

The Wire Guys make a point with VMS. I think that a VMS of some kind might be your best bet. If you can remote connect to your recorder, then you can spread out the video across four or five monitors using a high(ish) end PC.
  7. I'm not sure how I feel about this. As a nerd, I'm excited to get my hands on one and check out a 10MP camera. But as a CCTV professional I'm concerned that now my customers are going to "need" this camera and are not going to setup a network that has the bandwidth for 10MP. Even a 6fps max that thing is going to eat networks for breakfast.

    Viewing recordings

David, I would need a bit more information for this: What kind of DVR is this? What exactly does your PC do when you put the drive in the docking station? (Does it say "Cannot Read Drive?" Does it do anything? Can you hear/feel the drive spin up?) This might allow us to diagnose where the issue is.
  9. I have an Axis 223M and am working on a video comparison for a customer and want to view the MJPEG stream using VLC media player. I can access the MPEG4 stream with out issue using10.47.47.19:554/mpeg4/media.amp however when I switch to 10.47.47.19:554/mjpeg/media.amp or 10.47.47.19:554/jpeg/media.amp I do not receive anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Greetings

Hello all! I've been working with CCTV products for the past four years, IP cameras mostly for the past year. I hope I can add something substantive to the conversation, and I hope that I can learn even more!

    DynaColor DG208

I've had a DG216 that locked up when the hybrid (IP) channels were activated, but didn't have any IP cameras connected. Check in the system setup and set the IP cameras to "0" and see if that helps.
