    Looking for a MIC

i haqve two of these, one in the alley, one at the front door. absolutely AMAZING quality! can hear everything which is exactly what i want! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190575559207?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  2. what is your budget? with my system, the dvr is in a lockbox that my lodger made for me. super secure! but that is inside a metal cupboard in the cellar with another door that needs a key to get into, i also have a PC at my mums recording from the DVR 24/7 point is... if you hide and secure the DVR well, unless they are dedicated criminals, the dvr aint going nowhere, of course it is still good to record offsite though.

no, i can't bare to watch that. i tried but i cant. however i have seen videos by the same guys (the love police) so know what the video is about. i understand why these laws exist i just think that if someone shoves a camera in your face and takes a picture *OF* me they should need my permission. my face is private property, no? however if i am walking behind someone who is having their picture taken and get in shot, or i am protesting and a picture is taken of the protesters and it gets my face in, that is completely different and i am fine with that. i am not asking for any laws to be changed. just voicing my opinion. i actually think these love police guys are doing a good thing (in general, some of the stuff they do is immature, rude, offensive and down right stupid)

well people should be polite and ask first if they are going to take a picture OF me. there must be a law that says if a picture has been taken OF me and i ask for it to be erased, it has to be. You need to stop being so paranoid. He posted a thread up about a video that he created scaring children whilst using CCTV. He didn't ask for any questions to be posted on the legality of the footage taken nor should you be interested in that, that's his decision. I highly doubt that a paedophile will choose a CCTV forum to choose their next victims and can highly doubt these individuals can be traced back. It seems to me that the new people in the world are all interested in privacy & laws - take a step back and just enjoy something without getting knit-picky over the regulations and what's in the book. Society was laid back 20+ years ago but now we're being bombarded with 'data protection' and all this crap. Thanks for the video by the way! have a go at re reading all of my posts in this thread...

There isnt a dam thing you can do about it, and the cops cant do anything either, it is NOT against the law. YOU ARE OUTSIDE IN PUBLIC, you have no privacy out there. right, so if i don't want to take the risk of someone shoving a camera in my face and putting it all around the world, i must not go outside? yes... iknow that is extremely unlikely to happen, i am just using it as an example.

i have every right to be paranoid actually. i was just asking a question. if you tell them what you are going to do with the footage and they agree it is fine, and i am sure if you told them and they said we do not want to be on youtube, you would not of put them on youtube. i was also curious about the legality of minors as i would of thought there would be different privacy laws. i am not saying there was anything wrong with your video/system. i was just questioning it out of intrest. i am enjoying my young life. cctv, intruder, fire etc systems are a hobby and something i enjoy doing. as is going out with my friends. if by 'enjoy your life while you're young' you mean do what everyone else does which is go out on the street, drug myself up with anything and everything available and cause a nusense then no, or maybe you mean go out and mug people and break into houses, and kick the sh*t out of innocent people and steal their phone... nope, i'd rather not do that either. i am happy with my life, i go out at the weekends and have a good time, go to parties and other things which i probably shouldn't say every now and again and i have good friends. what do you mean by "you have some public surveillance issues"? i have no problem with cctv, or cctv on a lamp post run by a local resident. if i was old enough i would setup a neighbourhood watch, ask anyone if they want cctv and install it for the people who do charging them ONLY device cost. idea being that everyone has the same make of DVR/NVR so each house can be on the same remote viewing software, and each home owner can log into anyones cctv (with permission and prior notice of course) and watch to make sure there are no crimes being committed on the street. it is when i have no idea who is at the other end of the cameras but i know it is someone who has access to hundreds of cameras and can track me if he/she wishes or who can abuse their power... i have good reasons for installing cctv. i appreciate the video was a fun way of enjoying all the hard work setting up the system which is why i never said i disliked the video. i actually quite enjoyed it, it put a smile on my face bringing back memories of when i used to go trick or treating.

Doubtful, unless you live in North Korea. Taking photos in public is not against the law in free societies. Don't want your photo taken - stay home.Simple as that. I have no expectation of privacy as soon as I walk out my door. Neither should anyone else. i disagree. of course we should expect a level of privacy outside of our homes. i'm sorry but if i am going about my daily buisness and someone shoves a camera in my face, takes a picture (without my consent) and does not delete it when asked, i will take the camera off him and delete it. if i cant do that i will ask the police to do it. however if i am on a protest and a journalist takes a wide shot of everyone, that is different. just like if someone takes a picture of their girlfriend or child and i happen to be in the background.

If they are in public, whats the question? so if i go out to town and take 20 pictures of different children and put them on the internet and they get seen by paedophiles and end up on a child porn website, and then they get traced back to me. i will face no legal action?

is it legal to show those kids faces on youtube? and what mic are you using?
  17. what i did was used my digital camera to take rough pictures of what the cameras could see. the cameras in the back can see about 15 homes (about 23 if you include ones that are a pixel big) and then i knocked on every door that the cameras covered and showed them the picture i took from my camera then asked if they were okay with it. every single person said yes so i told them my door number in case they ever get broken into or whatever. generally the only people who dislike it are the c*nts who set fireworks off in the alley and the people who do other crimes in the alley. i was gonna upload the video of the burglars robbing a house, you see them jump over a fence and then walk down the alley (out of sight of camera at the time) then come back, place a tv down on the side of the pavement/alley, go back (to get more stuff) and then i come out (totally un aware) and then they see me and leg it the other way. unfortunately they had their faces covered so even if i still had the file, it would be pretty much useless.

    Can you identify this please?

after looking at the picture... you say is on his side of the fence, so i am guessing the car i can see through the fence is yours? diagonally is a very odd way to mount a box like that, there WILL be a reason... did he record video of you in your car? if so, its possible there is a tiny camera in the corner of the box that looks through the gap in the fence panels. although, my guess is that is is just a microphone... get up at 2AM or something when he is asleep, go round and DONT SNIP THE WIRE! just use scissors to carefully take the sheeth off the wire so you have access to the wires inside, then without cutting through the copper, cut the sheeth off again, then get an extension lead or something, cut the end off (in this case, cut the extension lead off, get the brown and blue wires, twist them on to the wires coming from his microphone, wrap tape around the wires so that the brown and blue from the extension lead can not touch, then plug your plug in and listen to the BANG from the box, then cut the wire at each end of your 'modification' so it just looks like someone has cut through the wire. due to not wanting legal stuff on my back, im joking. BUT what i have suggested will work. failing that, give us your address and i'll sort his cameras out.

    camera 2 brick attack.

this guy threw a brick at one of my cameras. he can't be very smart as he looked directly into the lens beforehand. luckily its a vandal proof camera so the polycarbonate (i think that's what its made from) dome bent inwards and popped out again. i then repositioned the camera and all is well. the dome has a scratch on but it does not effect performance. the screen recorder i used has chopped some frames out (like the one of the brick bouncing off the lens) so i will include some stills of the important missed out frames. video is now private due to privacy issues. PM me for link. smile for the camera! this image looks the same as the one above, but have a look at cam4, you can see the brick after it has bounced off my camera i am not going to take action because that will make matters worse. i do however have the footage saved in multiple remote locations so if he starts causing trouble, i can hand this over to the police.

    camera 2 brick attack.

well the camera moved because the bubble must of flexed in so much it hit the actual lens. the camera chip was tightened so i don't think just the vibration moved it. i have taken hint from this and in my other domes at tamper level i have not tightened the holding screws fully. i have done it enough so it will stay put but if it gets a rock thrown at it, it will move so the lens does not get snapped off. i have also put vibration sensors in all my domes low enough to attack. if one is attacked the dvr will send the corresponding channel into alarm, and i set up a 24 hour zone on the house alarm which will also activate (on the house alarm, one zone is a tamper for ALL the cameras.)

D.O.T.S demo, A very cool system

that is pretty good! i wonder if it supports PTZ integration. something like that would be extremely useful in a school.

    Hall Camera

its stupid, the first person to come into shot is criminal, the others are fine and the camera does not even look at them. The camera doesn't know that. sorry, worded it wrong. *the camera assumes the first person to come into shot is criminal, and everyone else is fine and the camera does not even get a face shot from them.
