This is the DVR that I am using.
http://www.gadspot.com/p-221-gs2006v.aspx
I really dont like the GUI, im sure its just a cheap china dvr. It still says it does D1 at 30fps which I guess is the standard
Where can I find the DVRs you are referring to?
-
So really with this DVR the highest resolution it will display is 480TVL. So I shouldnt even bother with 500 600TVL cameras. Rory can you recommend a good DVR thats under $200 or is this one decent
-
Yea they were only $39 and claiming to be 650TVL. Im learning that TVL resolution is not the only thing to be concerned with. Its so many more specs to look at when buying cameras
-
Thanks. this is very good info

Hello I just wanted to know of the installers that have installed cctv systems in residential homes. Do you have any insurance or something in place so if something happens, (you fall through ceiling or cause some type of property damage) LOL... so the customer cant sue you for damages?
The reason why I asked is because I know a guy that tried to install a cctv system in a persons house and he accidently and knocked a large hole with his foot through the ceiling while in the attic. He has a guy to come repair it but I wonder if the homeowner wanted to take him to court.

Are megapixel cameras very expensive?
-
I registered for a dealers account at cctv outlet. Just curious if anyone has ever purchased from them or are familiar with this company

Wow thanks. That's a cool option. Thanks for the help guys
-
Thankyou so much for clarifying this for me. I guess others are not knowledgeable in this area. I think I will just stick with the old way and run a separate feed to each tv. Thanks for the info

Yes I have digital. I live in Memphis tn. I can't believe they don't make something to wrk on digital cable
-
Thankyou so this in conjunction with the video modulator I posted should work?
-
Can someone help me or direct me in the right direction because I know this can be done
-
I'm sorry. I don't understand what you mean by as long as I don't have cable broadcasting on the same frequency not channel frequency. Could you please explain what this means.
-
Thanks. What is the dsp? I also see alot of cameras on your website that I may be interested in purchasing for my next project

can anyone tell me if the Sony 1/3” Super HAD II CCD pickup device is any good in cctv cameras. I tried googling it but didnt get much info back. Im looking at a camera anywhere from 600 to 700tvl.

Hello all. I have been reading online where I can view my camera feed on all tvs in my home on a specified channel. I googled some info and came up with a device called a video audio modulator. Am I on the right track? I have Comcast cable (Xfinity TV) and would like to view my cameras on an unused station. Is this possible since most catv companies have gone digital?

I know this is a cheap or inexpensive product but somebody please tell me if Im going in the right direction.

I have it on NTSC. Im not sure which bit rate it is set at but i have the GS2006V DVR . (http://www.gadspot.com/p-221-gs2006v.aspx)
The picture looks ok but I was kinda comparing it to a job I did with 520 TVL cameras and it looks as if the picture quality is about the same when these are suppose to be 650TVL. Again I did order the cheap premade cables with these so I am going to get some RG59 and see if that makes any difference.

It claims to be CCD

I recently purchased 4 dome cameras from a company called gadspot. The cameras I purchased were a dome camera with 650 tvl resolution. I hooked up these cameras with the supplied cable which was basic thin power and video cable and these cameras did not look good at all.Should I go buy some RG59 with power cable to see if the picture quality improves? Could the cameras actually be less than 650tvl?

I want to install a cctv system in my home which is approx 1500 sq. I wanted to install a wired system but started thinking about using wireless ip cams. I plan to use about 4 to 8 cams. What are the advantages and disadvantages. Will I have to supply power over ethernet for each camera? The IP cams I have been looking at dont appear to be outdoor cams. And last question, how would I get these cameras to record to my DVR
-
Is there a particular DVR or software that has to be installed on a DVR to be able to remotely view the cameras from an Iphone? If my alarm system goes off I want to be able to look in on my house from my iphone
-
I am wondering what kind of DVR I would need to be able to view my cameras remotely where the stream and quality would be very close or near to realtime. What specs should I look for on the DVR? Im sure something like this would be very expensive
-
With no computer you have to use a IP camera or an analog camera with a video server attached. Also the only type of camera that might fit is a bullet camera and these come in mostly analog but there are some IP versions. What is a decent price on a video server?
