I installed windows 7 about 8 weeks ago and have been running a gv1480 flawlessly. v8.2
No blue screens - perfect.
Best change I made.

yes - should have thought of that......
I have a unusual set up with a pc based in the loft without a monitor and I access it remotely.
Being new to Geovision I installed the Remote Viewlog software and made the assumption that I would replicate the file from the server to the remote pc I was using. However I now realise that this is processed - I assume to save on bandwith and there is therefore considerable loss in quality when viewed from a remote pc, despite downloading the file and "merging it".
If it helps - below is the original file from the server - obvious I know.....
The cameras I am using have a manual zoom and focus on them - and I need to tweak the focus a little

I am also considering changing the cpu to a quadcore - I will post a new video when I get around to it, so you can compare.

im a numpty - problem solved

my understanding is the geo does work well on an amd processor, but they say that the only support intel cpu inorder to standardise their support to customers.
I am also informed that the via is the only chipset that gives problems.
I have to say that the pc is running fine, but it is running at 100% cpu cycles.
The settings are running on mamimum (5) and on the codec geo-asp with the advanced codecs enabled.

I would like some commects on quality please. Attached is a link to an avi file which I took this morning, and have converted for use here. This is following several days worth of tweaking and reading various posts in this forum.
I am new to the geo software, I decided to make the jump from an unbranded dvr board.

The images around the car when it is moving is a little blocky. Is this a setting that I can adjust to remove this? Or is this perhaps too little cpu power? Any advice would be appreciated - or indeed is it normal?
My specs are as follows
GV1480 pci
Amd 3200 cpu
nforce 2 chipset
5 x i-red 520 line ccd cameras

hmm - thats wierd.
did it actually show that it had been paid for another year?

update
I have now fixed this. It wa a codec selection issue - which once changed enabled me to select the options

just got myself one of these and I have to say I'm very impressed with it.
Installed a treat on windows 7 and so far so good.
Web can access is fine via internet explorer, but I am trying to get this to work with my blackberry. When I configure the webcam server through the network icon, the option to enable jpeg and 3gpps is greyed out, so I cannot select it.
I am sure that this must be something simple, but so far it's baffling me - please can some one kindly point me in the right direction.
many thanks

I have same card (ebay) and its running very stable on a old p3 800 pc
I will happily share the specs/settings with you of you are still having problems.
I would love to be able to view it over the net (LAN access sis perfect & all ports are forwarded)

Just after a bit of guidance please.
I have a home built system comprising an anykeeper 2016 card that was bought 2nd hand off ebay together with a couple of sony colour ccd cameras running from an old p3 866mhz computer (512mb ram) that I put a new 250 gig sata drive in.
I have played around with varying software options, started off with anykeeper, but wasn't that keen on the software layout - and from reading the forum here I installed koditec (old firmware version) that I am very happy with. I love the timeline. I do however have a couple of items that I would like clarification upon.
At present I am running the system on 382x256 which is fine, but a bit blocky. Here is a link showing some footage of the other night of me putting the rubbish out - as you can see it is a bit pixelated.
http://www.astm23.dsl.pipex.com/cctv.zip (file size 4.6MB)
I would like to sharpen this and i have experimented with the larger resolutions - 756x512. However when I select the 756x512 option despite what I set the frame rate to, the system only records at about 3-4 frames per second and I also get interlacing issue on fast objects. There are only 2 cameras installed. When I checked the cpu utilisation on the cpu is shows circa 50% - has anyone got an idea on what could be the problem. I could really do with a middle resolutionof 640x480, but unfortunatley that is not available on the software. I have heard that these cameras do not suppport the higher resolutions, so obviously a lower resolution
Just one more annoyance is the no matter what I try I cannot get the system to view over the internet. LAN access is fine, I have confirgured port forwarding, disabled firewall, etc and can see the html page fine, but the image just won't feed. Activex has installed - but I just get an error image where the pic should be . It's driving me mad. I have enabled the guest account.
Thoughts and comment would be greatly appreciated.
David.

clear list of used ip's - remote viewlog
in Geovision
Posted
quick query.....
I am using the remote viewlog application and I would like a way of being able to delete the list of ip addresses in the connect to drop down box.
I have searched for ini files and even in the registry and can't find the offending file/entry.
Just an irritation as I typed the wrong ip address in once (which is one digit out) and its there everytime I open the appliction.
Can someone offer me some advice please
