LOL. Some things - like m TV's - the ones I want are not made anymore ....hehe, I've got a 55 and 65" Plasma at home.
In the process of tweaking the vacay house. Wish I could put a Plasma in there as well - I prefer the colors and viewing angles, and IMO, nothing on the market is comparable currently.
Tech as always will always be a chasing game. It's whether wait for the next best thing, and or just be *content*

LOL. So basically if I wait it out, there's a VERY good chance I won't even get my hands on this until December 2015....if not then some.

I don't follow CCTV industry but seems like ISC West is right around the corner...
From the time of expo, what is the timeframe when said products shown are generally released. 2 months, 6 months, a year later...
About to drop some $$ on some 3367VE but I'd hate to have something *newer* come out right afterwards. Heh, who knows. Maybe there will be a new starlight dome

I'm about to purchase a couple of 3367VE. Saw the Bosch 8000, but I prefer the domes.
Is there any new camera coming out in the next quarter or 2 that may be similar/rival the 3367.

I pulled up your link. This is all Swahili to me...
Where in the spec do I look for where it shows I can turn off IR

I plan to have a camera placed indoors on my window ledge facing OUT.
Will I have issues with IR due to the glass ?
The PQ I care about is mainly during the night...

Hi All -
I have a Synology station.
At this point in time, I don't have a need to put camera's all around the house.
I simply want to put 1 camera via POE-IP for my Synology to connect.
I want to put it on the inside ledger of my front of the house window.
It see's Sunlight from 9-3PM.
HD preferable.
Budgetwise, the camera is not a *high priority* for me.
However, PQ are +++
Suggestions, recommendations .

Most of the ones rated for home use will not work well with more then a camera or 2.I don't have their grid in front of me but I believe they had it rated at 20 camera.
Let's chat more about ~other~ NVR software packages.
Picture Quality is what counts.
I don't think I will use it to *monitor* what is on display.
It has been prompted me to install one due to attempted robbery of my car.....
I am quite intimate with hardware and tweaking computers.....former netops project manager
I DID like the footprint of the synology. That's not to say I can't finaggle a Small Form Factor Box myself and install some of the other NVR software recommended.
Thoughts. Suggestions ? IOS app for viewing is a +++

I spoke to Axis. They advised me, any sensor will burned if not aimed correctly. Whether or not it is having sun pointed *into* it versus the camera being angled down.
The primary differences on the exterior was housing, theft protection, cooling / heating (thus making the housing a bit larger as well). These were the primary differences.
If it's a camera made exclusively for indoors, then you may burn out the sensor as there may not be UV protection. I've burned out an Axis indoor camera looking out a window in about 1 1/2 years. But during that time, the image quality was awesome. -
OT on the windows...
I am currently working on a build with a order of windows running 700K.
The manuf. doesn't actually promoto the gas, as he advises it breaks the seals over time. They have a special *sealing* material .....but no gas..

Noob Here. Axis has both indoor and outdoor rated ones of the same model lineup.
PQ aside, what is the drawback of using a Outdoor Grade unit to shoot indoors ?
-
I am strictly buying the Synology to use as a NVR. The + side is formfactor to a degree.
Care to shed some more light on other options.
I strictly care about 1 thing only - Picture Quality.
Someone tried breaking into my daily driver that I parked outside. The exterior of the house shows no signs of attempted intrusion. Home alarm has cellular radio, yadda, yadda. I plan to have 3-4 cameras at max. Whether I end up using indoor, outdoor or both - I will end up engaging my cabinetmaker or fabricator to make some sort of ~decorative housing~ to hide the cameras regardless.
-
What is the Picture Quality difference of a indoor camera looking out versus a *outdoor* based camera in it's own protective housing ?

I was never a fan of CCTV for the home......
We have a full blown alarm system, central monitoring, alerts on phones, etc.....
I am planning to do 3367 cameras with a Synology unit.
What's the point of having a system if it won't capture the details...
How did I come to this combo. I've seen a couple of Synologys - and the software is more than sufficient for my needs.
As far as camera's, I'm the type to buy once - cry one....and the Axis seemed like a good fit. Thoughts, suggestions...

Actuallt our IP network is *one* but internal within the 3 sites.
Analog/coax I'm open to as well.....but we're so ~IP~ centric.
In a former job, we just logged into via *IP* to the client software that was connected to a DVR.
The only ones I've used were a Honeywell as well as some local roll your own setup....with their rebranded version of CMS viewer

Hello -
I have 3 sites I want to monitor via IP.
In theory, the 3 sites would have 2-3 cameras each.
All of them would be sent to a DVR over IP.
I don't have a issue with any hardware we need to build the DVR.
We are a IT firm and have 3 facilities within the USA. I'd like to start monitor *our cages in our datacenters*. It will be nil to nary I would ever need the footage, but I'd like to have the ability to have it...
Can anyone recommend various pricepoints on software options for the DVR. The one thing I do care is that the software is robust with decent GUI. Not a ~roll you own~ sort of software.
