    CNB VCM-24VF DNR

on my CNB VCM-24VF cameras , there is a function called DNR ( digital noise reduction), just curious, is there any disadvantage, to maxing the setting out, in other words, choosing high, instead of low, will it degrade the picture, or sharpness any... right now i have it set to middle, and the picture looks excellent...

    CNB VCM-24VF Settings

i just purchased a couple of these CNB VCM-24VF cameras, first off, these things are built like a tank, very solid construction... now these cameras have the Vari-Focal Lenses, can anyone provide some input on the best method to focus these cameras, whats nice is that there is a port, so a monitor could be hooked up directly to the camera, to aid in setting up this camera.... also, to those who use or have these cameras, would you be able to provide just what settings you are using... thanks

    CNB VCM-24VF Settings

yes, your right, believe me, i debated for a long time, trying to decide between the two VCM and VBM, i ended up with the VCM cause it allowed multiple installation methods, also with the VBM, i would of had to drill out a larger size hole, where-as with the VCM i just had to drill a 3/4 inch hole in eave, and then i used some plumbers puddy as a gasket around the hole in the VCM base to eave gap...

    CNB VCM-24VF Settings

thats what i did when i first installed the camera, it was very bright outside, and i was kinda difficult to focus it, and later on, when the sun was just setting , i noticed that hearly the entire image was blurry and out of focus, so i got up on the ladder and refocused the camera, and it was very easy to focus it this time, now it looks incredible...now i just need to buy 6 more VCM-24VFs

  15. hello, could underpowering cameras cause damage to them, the reason why i am asking is, i purchased a 8 camera system and received with it a power converter, that had a 8 output Y, one of those power converters like you hook your laptop up to... now this power adapter was rated at 12v and output 3amp, now i know that average cameras require basically .550mah, i have since upgraded to a wall panel that outputs 12v but 1.5 amp each output.. now i notice several of the cameras are experiencing very bad almost un-viewable images, especially at nite, i also purchased two new cameras and the image is perfect... my question is, could the cameras that now display poor images, of been damaged by inadequate powered , especially when the IRs came on...

    Underpowered Cameras

yes the power unit i received with the 8 cameras was a 12v total output 3amp.... the way i see it is, if you take 8 cameras that need at the very least 550mah, then we add in the fact that these are IR cameras, which probably need even more then 550mah and try to power on 3amp total output, its not possible.. its like if we try to run our high performance cars that require 104 octane racing fuel, on 87 octane, parts of the engine are sure to be destroyed and damaged...

    Underpowered Cameras

my question was, can a camera that is being supplied with LESS then required power be damaged...i thought i made that clear....

    Nighvision Issue

Hello all, i am new to this site, first post and also i am new to the CCTV world, i was wondering if someone might be able to assist me with a problem i am having with my home cctv system. i just purchased a 8 ir camera, dvr system off ebay, its from Dowson, i paid roughly 600.00, the cameras seem pretty decent, i do plan on buying better cameras down the road, but for now they are pretty good, again i am new to this stuff, so please don't bash me for buying a low price setup.. now to my problem, the cameras have an excellent picture during the day, BUT, at night some of the cameras, exhibit a poor picture, there is a lot of distortion of the image, and some are pretty dark, while others show a pretty decent nightvision image.. also the cameras that exhibit image issues changes, it is not always the same cameras... now these cameras are powered by a single power adapter, its 12 volt and 3amp, into a 1 into 8 output splitter... i have done some research and believe i am experiencing a power shortage problem, could some of the cameras not be receiving enough power due to the power adapter.. i was thinking of going to a wall mounted power panel that supplies 1 amp to each channel.. could my power adapter be the cause of the issues , i have described above.. also i was under the belief that ir nightvision cameras exhibit a black and white image at night, but my cameras display a color image, is that normal... thanks for any help.. Eric
