  1. Here is a sample I took the other day with the 12mp 180.

How has the reliability been with those for you? I have 3 different customers with them and they ALL have issues.

Had some issues when they first came out .... but since then not to bad. If using them indoors I always lock them into day mode. Had some issues when they first came out with the IR cut filters getting stuck.

  2. I use the older 20mp 180 degree cameras all the time av20185dn. I use them a lot in parking lots when no one is manning the security system. I mean I love PTZ's if someone is actually using the joystick but if not I would rather use the 20mp 180 degree camera.

I have not had a chance to use the Omni yet. I have quoted it for a couple large warehouses but they haven't pulled the trigger yet.

  3. Thanks for all the replies

Dell t310 Server 2.4 ghz xeon with 4gig Ram

    It is running exacq

    H.264

    Average FPS of 7

...... maybe its just the way an NVR works. I do realize that it is trying to record and then spit it back out off the same hard drive

When I try to view a full screen of live video like 4x4 so 16 5mp camera it just seems so jerky.

Yes I know SAS is an overkill but I pulled it off their old pelco system and just replaced all the old 300gb drives

  4. I was just curious if anyone knows were it the bottle neck in an NVR. By looking are performance monitor it doesn't seem to be the CPU, Network or Hard drives. It is it the bus?

I have a Xeon 2.4 quad core with about 80 megapixels of data with a SAS storage of about 20tb, with 2 Gig ports one in and one out

    Thanks for you input

  5. I have done multiple installs with exacq and arecont and had very few issues and the issues that I had were solved very fast.

I would have to ask if you have taken the Ecacq Classes?

Exacq and Arecont are the number one worst integrations ever, I have 63 exacq installs with 47 Arecont cameras - (27) 8185's and (16) 8365 installed across various facilities. Exacq is unable to keep the connection to the cameras, the cameras seem to be running vie web HTTP interface when viewed.

As if this writing Nov 20-2011 there is nothing that can be done, if you made the purchase of the cameras and software, you are pretty much stuck.!

I would not recommend exacq and arecont if my life depended on it.

    Peace All,

  6. What are you using to focus? Are you using a focus chart?

It also depends on the lens you use just like a SLR camera.

I have not had a chance to try one yet but when i have a chance I will.

With most lenses and cameras just like a normal camera you have a focal point somewhere in your viewing area. Normally the spot you really want to watch. These lenses are supposed to make the whole area super clean.
