I don't know where your getting your CD's from. The control center software is on all of the verions of cd's that I have. Also its right on their website for download http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/5_0.asp.I usualy steal them from kids or buy from some small Russian company
My CDs are from EzCCTV GB and they have not control center on them.
They have Center v2 though, but that have been there forever.

edit:
Succeded to create a twin thread there
Remove this somebody, please

I played around with the ini files in the Geovision system to translate the system to Swedish.
Anybody knows how the system of the ini files works?
That is has anybody done a translation of a Geo system before?
Rory, you might have some clues for me?
-
I have both v8.0 and v8.01 on cd but Control Center isn't avalible on any of the cds.
I guess that Rory was right in the first place when saying that
Control Center cost extra $$.
Anybody know about the pricing? Just need an aproximate,
is it 10$ or 1000$?
Another thing, how good can it handle low bandwith?
The Remote playback server worked fairly fine and was better
then several other DVR softwares.

Check this thread: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5545
The patch will take care of your problem.

We aim to please
Good to hear that it finally worked. Can I remov it from my webspace now?
-
Oki. The one you have is for ver7
You got mail
-
Which patch did you get? The working one should be: "Update_DMBackup-E.zip"
It's close to 800K in size so I guess that it's not a good idea to attach it here?
I got it from Geo support and it worked ok on the systems that I have updated.
I could email it to you if you PM your adress, in case you don't have it.

I was just wondering what effects occour when the GEO cards get too hot?
Have no idea about that. Never built a small formfactor Geo system.
I usually use as big chassies as possible.
-
How does the picture look at the main program?
The image will be a bit blurred on the remote client depending on
your connection speed.
-
Just unpack the files to your Geovision folder and start the system as you normally do.
You are not supposed to run the "DMWebcam.exe" directly, it is called from the main Geovision application.

To demo the recorded video is easy on a laptop if you burn a backup cd
from a running Geo system. The Viewlog500 soft that is burned together
with the video works excelent on a laptop and looks like the regular viewlog.
Then it easy to demo object search and stuff like that.
The drawback is that it's not an autodemo, but the customer will se exactly
what he is buying.

I applied the patch on a GV1240 system that had a clean ver 8.0 install.
Hope that the patch will fix your problem
-
I did not see that patch listed on their software download page?Did someone give you a direct link?
Also have you applied the patch yet?
Found it in Ezcctv forum. I was sure I've seen it someware before,
and was allmost sure that it was on Geos site but it seems that they
have removed it.
Tested it now and it works ok.

Got a patch from Geovision today. Will try it early next week.
Fast and usefull response from Geovision.

That problem is caused by the multipage option. You can have for example several quad splits that changes with a predefined interval.
If you just want to use one page the following pages must be defined as "blank" pages.
You define a blank page with zeros instead of cam no in the settings.
I had the exact same problem with my first Geo 8 installation at a customer. Much embarrasing.
Hope this makes sense, otherwise let me know and I'll try to explain better.

Check out http://www.sleek.com.sgIn a way scalable as the softeware management client allows for multiple dvr connection, and also creating of virture dvr groups that allows u to mix and match cameras from various dvr connected vie network.
Up to 300 DVR can be connected to the client, and if you are using all 16 channels dvr, that'll mean a whopping 4800 cameras.
Up to 64 cameras can be view on a single screen.
Time synchronisation between different dvr's avaiable, so that means all your dvr will be on the same time.
Do you have any pricing on these machines? And do you know if there is any european distributers that have them?
-
acti .. not axis .. but i understand either way .. im the same really .. i have to order everything from the US and import it in .. its a pita .. so i normally have to just end up getting what they have at the time.I meant ACTi but wrote Axis.
Axis I can get.

Ok, yeah its really still a beta for a while until they find all the bugs and fix them, reason im staying away from it for now.On the other hand the next release (8.0.1.0) will probably have both fixes
and some new features which will have bugs which will force a new
release and so on...... So when the soft is stable it's time for a new major release I've seen this alot in other softwares (mostly my own ).
-
The Acti will be faster though as it uses MPEG4-ASP and also will require less bandwidth - 1.5mbps - for real time transmission using a single channel server. Generally you wont find real time from a multi chanel server no matter which one you use, at least the ones that are on the consumer market right now.
I'm having a hard time finding an Axis distributor in Sweden. The biggest of my suppliers can not deliver Axis stuff, but the specs on the Sony SNTV 704
looks very similar.
Hopefully this system will be up and running within a week (depending on the customers decision),
and I'll be back with the verdict.
-
Jep, in this case I used Geo backup from the start menu. I will try
viewlog \ tools \ backup to se if that makes a change. To bad the customers Geo machine is located a good drive from me, but I have to
go there again for the staffs training anyway.
I'll drop a note to Geo support and will post the result here.
