Help finding dome/privacy cover for high speed ip cam
JayOwen posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello all! I have a client that is interested in finding a reflective or tinted dome/privacy cover for high speed ip cam like similar to the one pictured in this link-http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/Hikvision-DS-2DE7184-series-2MP-HD-Network-IR-Speed-Dome-IP-PTZ-dome-speed-camera-DS/1580132118.html They live in a home overlooking the beach and and feel that is a bit obvious as a result of its size. I've spent many hours searching the web and have found some sites that offer custom made to spec. domes. FYI the cam is ceiling mounted tucked up into a hole in the eve/sofet of there 2nd story balcony so that only the bottom half of the turret ball is visible. Kind of flush mounted but more like recessed. So, has anyone had any luck getting custom domes made? If so please advise, I need a solution sooner than later. Thanks! -
In Need of Dome For QVIS 2MP HD IP PTZ Camera
JayOwen posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi, Does anyone know of a Dome that would fit over this cam? http://www.icctvsystems.co.uk/Item/qvis_PTZ_ipcam1080p Or perhaps a place that could make a custom dome? The cam is ceiling mounted within a 9" soffet with only the ball touret exposed so the dome could be affixed to the exterior of the soffet. There doesn't seem to be anything available that is purpose built, any help would be appreciated. -
Hi, First let me thank you for the helpful advice you all have provided previously. My question for today, is it possible to connect a DVR to a network wirelessly? There seems to be a mixed consensus on this? Anybody know of a tried and true way?

Let me start off by saying thank you, you're input on to my install problems have been very helpful. I have another one for you, I've tried two DVR's with the same following error. when logging on remotely with the DVRClient and all networking correct and the right password I get "Failure to recieve user authentication". I can log on fine with mobile devices but not from the PC. I can however log on through the PC to the same identical DVR at another location. with the same configuration. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Hi, I am doing an install at a gated community and had some questions. I need a general overview cam, 2 license plate cams(1 for coming in, 1 for going out) and a facial close up cam. There is power easily available but no gate house for the dvr. There is a house about 100 yards away that I can locate the DVR in. The way I see it I have three options. I can run cable to the house, build a weatherproof, secure dog house type of thing and keep the DVR in it right next to the gates, or use wireless cams. I like the wifi the least, its been my experience that the image quality is lacking? Also are IP Wifis a better quality than the older 2.4 mhz analog? If so whats their distance range? On a side note can anyone suggest some inexpensive wired eyeball cams with varifocal and IR? Thanks!

Hi, I am a long time reader first time poster. I have some questions that have probably been answered so a link would suffice as a reply. First, the vendor I was using has dropped there analog products as well as DVRs and is now only selling IP equipment. I understand there move but I still have a need for less expensive products. Any vendor recommendations would be appreciated. Also, when connecting a DVR on a network that has two routers (first one cable modem/router, second one wifi router)does it matter which one the DVR is connected to? Another question, most DVR manufacturers include client viewing software, is there a recommended viewer that works with most DVRs?
