    cctv problem

disconnect the hard drive. If the video comes back up then its your hard drive. If it stays the same then it probably is your DVR.

    help with a camera

Maybe you should decrease your coverage to 15-17ft then you can see the license plate clearly.
  6. Your Power supply is probably defective. Get a new power supply.
  7. The previous installer was probably too cheap to use bnc connections and just spliced together some wires. Was probably held together by black tape. That is why you dont see the BNC.

CCD vs TV Line Please HelP!

The 480TVL one. However you might have to get the correct lens though because the 1/4" has a narrower FOV

    Got a question

Yes you would use the BNC to RCA and that should do the job.

    Customer not satisfied!

What is the model number of the LCD. Because usually 32 inches will have a fairly high resolution, on top of that it is probably widescreen. You can not realistically expect good quality when you focus on a single channel. Especially for a monitor that big.
  11. Sometimes it depends on your operating system too. I installed a capture card on a PC once and it would work on XP but it wouldnt work on Vista.

Its because of the LCD monitor. To get the best performance you must match the output resolution with the native resolution of the monitor. Or you must get an upconverting monitor. But those tend to be real expensive.

    Noise from Camera

What kind of camera is it? It looks like night time noise when the gain kicks in.

    monitor

CRT's does not matter what resolution it inputs, it will still look good. However if the resolution of the output of the DVR does not match the native resolution of the LCD then your image will look terrible unless you have one of those high end up converting LCDs.
  16. What is the cause of black horizontal lines going from the bottom to the top. This isn't the power supply as a new exact same model camera plugged in at the same place using the same source of power wont have these horizontal scrolling black bars. I'm thinking it might be because of the power draw of the LED's. Does anyone know what causes this?

    Black Horizontal Lines on Cameras.

I'm just wondering is it after a period of time does the camera start drawing more current?

Is this camera really 24VAC? *pic*

24vac can also come in those kinds of connections too.
  19. vin2install

    which CCD matrix ???

1/3" CCD's are generally more sensitive to light.

Is this camera really 24VAC? *pic*

No it could be either one. Type of connection does not define if it is a 24vac or 12vdc

    problems again with ir camera

Circuits on the IR board are probably fried. Probably a surge of some sort that just happened. That is if the IR's are on all the time.
