    I am rarely pleased with any ipod/ipad/iphone app, but there is a free app that controls the Loftek CXS 2200 and it is the best interface I have found by far.

     

    I mention this because of the plugin for the Loftek.

     

    The app is simply called CamViewer, and after several weeks of using it both on the WAN and LAN side, I am very very impressed.

     

    For me the Loftek has worked well, although I see that the image is a bit washed out, and the IR is so extreme I can't view it well at night simply because of my landscape lights!

    I have connected my IP camera with Dyndns and I can watch my home from anywhere but the image does not refresh at all. This is a Loftek ip camera with pan tilt and when I move it i need to refresh the browser to be able to watch live images. In my LAN it works fine and when I move the camera the image I see is moving as well. Any suggestions on how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

    That's one way of putting it, yes.

     

    As to the others: OSD is On Screen Display, and refers to the control menus you can access to adjust camera parameters... like this:

    VGA - technically, Video Graphics Array - when applied to cameras or to video recording, refers to a resolution of 640x480 pixels. QVGA is Quarter-VGA, or 320x240. QQVGA, by extension, is Quarter-Quarter-VGA, or 160x120 pixels.

    If you use IE browser to connect the camera for the first time, maybe there is no image displyed, there will be an ActiveX prompt, please click the prompt and choose Run Add-on. Then refresh the ie interface, and login the camera again, at last you will see live video.

    This camera comes with "optimum focus range that has been set before it is delivered out

    of the factory. If you turn the lens, it may cause incorrect focus and vague images", but it is 3x optical zoom camera.

    Oh, I get it. I just look up the instruction of Loftek sentinel IP camera and found that what you said is the same to the instructions.

    I just think, How many? it is not easy to decide. For me, I intall three Loftek sentinel D1s dome camera for my home security.

    After all, you have your own condition.

    I also the same phrases like loftk, lktown and loftek. Who can give me an explanation of their relation or no relation...Thanks.

    I just know something about them.

    Loftk seems the original name of the community. Lktown is one of their own online store. Loftek is their self-manufactured brand. So, if you buy something with Loftek logo, I mostly assure they come from Loftek.

    As I post before in this list, I have tried Loftek IP camera tech service. So much better. I am afraid that it seems that Foscam put so much on their advertisement. I search Ip camera and always some foscam ad comes into my eyes. It is real that more ads can ensure the quality?

    Just now, I reply a topic about "Camera recomendation". I post a reply and recommend him two IP cameras. After all, for me these are two popular wireless IP cameras. My office was equipped some Foscam IP cameras(I do not know who equip those on the angles). But my house and garden installed Loftek CXS2200 for this one is a recommendation of one of my friends. In fact, I don't know too much about these. Perhaps we are so busy on weekdays and can't spare some time for other things like these home tools. Without seeing the recommendation post, we may not haven't considered this question.

     

    I just tell you what I know about Loftek IP camera and foscam camera.

    Foscam, as I search, invest lots of money on their advertisement or other marketing promotion. So, the price, more often than not, is higher than Loftek. I also google this brand. It seems that Loftek present more other products. They also sell other IP cameras, wireless mini keyboard, other computer peripherals. As I know, IP camera and mini keyboard is their feature products.

    I think, if don't want the IP camera for specific and professional use, I advise you choose Loftek IP camera.

    If you want the professional use, you are expected to make a study of these two. After all, you need to consider which one is more suitable for you.

    Before this, I also post a topic on this forum. I just want to know what is the difference between Loftek CXS 2200 and Foscam 8918. Though I got the answer at last, I am not sure about its acurracy.

    Then it occurs to me that I can turn to their anthority website, such as their email on the web, leaving a message, making a telephones call etc...

    I strongly introuce this method to you. For you will get the most accurate answer.

    Once I came to BBS and found a netizen posted a topic. He employed a wireless IP camera in the water and what he will do? Just guess!

     

    To my surprise, he placed the IP camera in the water for fishing! Then this topic becomes hotter and hotter. For he really hooked quite a few fish. If you take the camera for fishing, at least it can help us find where is the best place for fishing. After all, we just think about how to use IP camera for surveillance field. It seems no other usage beside surveillance as we know.

    We know that a sort of tech product comes in people's life with some one usage, and then we add more and more requirements on this. At last the product "certainly" becomes the thing we hope.
