    Urban foxes on CCTV cameras

our local dogs, basically they are mixed breeds. they love to roam the streets in packs of 20 or so .. going through your trash and taking dumps on your lawn .. they literally take over the island at night. EUUl6bFAp9k

Please help me in choosing web hosting

Wow way to drag an old thread out of the grave. Ive since left that host, and now host my site myself - its free and unlimited.
  3. BTW the Zeus (LE-AS/AN) uses a totally different firmware which is why you see all the warnings on that page, that release was not for the Zeus, but I heard Sean got his hands on a release for those as well - I dont have any of them ... and I dont provide a download to the firmware - that was just a special christmas upload I had on my site when it first came out.
  4. Wonder how I missed that LOL. Just read the updates again and it is there (translated from chinese to english): "9) to solve only the first 1,9,17 Road 24 on the road can be set to D1 resolution problem." http://www.bahamassecurity.com/html/aboutfirmware-inc.htm
  5. Except when set to D1 higher than 7fps on those channels, the remaining channels have to be CIF. With the latest firmware that I got from Nelly's, I can enable Channel 1 to record anywhere from 1-30FPS and the remaining channels can still do D1 7FPS max. I've tested this on the Zeus 4 channel, and have ordered a Zeus 8 channel for another project and Sean has tested this on the 8 channel as well. Not sure if it is the same for the Apollo line... They must have just added that into the last 2.608 update, I recall trying it with the first 2.608 and it did it but then it changed itself back, which is why I made that initial reply.

Hmmm .. seems you are right. Didnt notice that before. Wonder why Dahua didnt change their specs, could be the DVRs still come with 2.606. I do notice quality is lower with 2.608 firmware though, especially the network quality. They made some changes to that part to make it faster over the WAN.

    Urban foxes on CCTV cameras

You betchya. If you think you're gonna scare a raccoon off, think again and be prepared for a stand off and potential fight! One the other night, spent all night climbing down the tree to pick at my trash. Everytime I went out there it would look at you for a bit then if you did go after it with anything it would climb a little up the tree and literally laugh at you, cause it knew you could not reach it even though it was like right there. And ofcourse it being a dark night, throwing plastic soda bottles full of water at it made no difference as they just hit something the tree But ha .. had a surprise for it .. came in the way of a long tree trimmer with a saw on the end .. hmmm .. havent seen it since (dont worry, no animals were injured in this story!)

Might seem that way, especially if using PSS, but its a hardware limitation also.

  10. That KT&C looks like it would be fun to play with. I'm assuming the KPC-N501, does that have adjustable AGC? Yeah I believe so. Only thing it didnt really have was enable/disable Day Night.
  11. Its probably distributed out the back of a car trunk Here is a well known company: http://www.foresight-cctv.com/IP%20Camera%20Cabling%20Solution.htm
  12. Interesting product. I wonder if it works for copper clad though Check the price though, might be cheaper just to run a single cat5 I can see where existing siamese might come in handy though, with the 18awg already run.

    Urban foxes on CCTV cameras

No foxes here, but plenty racoons, rats, and potcakes. Catch them all on CCTV all the time. racoons are the sneakiest little buggers though, they are afraid of nothing.

    QC444 Snapshot on disk?

No documentation as its from the SDK, any documentation in that is limited to broken english and basic code talk. Its built from C++ code. And yes it does overwrite as its just a demo. There might be a way to change that in the C++ code though to be honest right now I am tied up on some jobs, and not being 100% knowledgeable with C++ it might take some time.

Why my camera is not clear look ? thanks ....

Depends on the TV, and the camera. Can be still be impressive if the camera is plugged direct into the TV. If from a DVR the VGA or HDMI output can make it look better than if using composite output, which at least matters when viewing a multiview.

    QC444 Snapshot on disk?

I never used the snapshot function for email, didnt even know it was connected. Used it for ftp though and also capturing snapshots from the SDK. here is the CaptureImage demo from the SDK which uses the snapshot function from the DVR. saves a jpg to the program path. You could use this to at least test your DVR's snapshot function settings. http://www.mediafire.com/?bgg5j9n9ixixdi6

    Residential Townhouse Install

Actually you could use BNCs with UTP if you need to >> from balun BNC end, RG59 out to cameras with .. BNC connectors on the end. You could use twist on, crimp on, compression .. whatever tickles your fancy.

    Newbie Home System

So says you. I asked because nowhere in the specs does it mention the answer. It just says you can run 12VDC up to X amount of feet - seems the specs are total BS. I will do whatever is the cheapest and easiest. Thanks.

    Newbie Home System

3 pairs are needed? I would only have 1 pair free. See, now I KNOW you're trolling - you know as well as anyone that you can't power 1.65A worth of cameras over a single 24AWG pair. Hell, you'd have trouble powering all that over a single 18/2. I also know we've discussed the VPS units around here before and you should be perfectly aware of what type of device they are. Stop confusing the OP with your trolling. Trolling? I asked a question. Based on your answer I am better off running RG59 siamese.

    VCM-24VF Excessive noise

What others have you found in the price range? Im still looking. I don't fight so much with the Arm Electronics cameras and they are in the same price range. I have the issue as you though which is why I have so many of these CNB cams out there. Last two jobs I used Arm and it was so much easier without all the frustrations. Yeah but I dont think my supplier sells those, but I guess I could try their generic TDN dome, its 600TVL also with 2.8-12mm, OSD etc .. couple dollars more but if it has a photocell then I guess good to go - its the video switchover on the VBM/VCMs that get to me. Id rather use something from the actual manufacturer though. KT&C has some but they are $50 more, and not the kind of design that can really be wall mounted (stick out too much) which some clients need. Ill search down the Arm though .... thanks
