    Night vision without red lights?

KT&C KPC-N501NU-B TDN IR Bullet, Sony Effio 700TVL, 2.8-12mm, 940nm IR LEDs. Short range near invisible IR, useful for TDN camera that doesn't need a ton of IR.

    GenIV 8LTA is a POS

I totally understand. Living on this out island away from civilization though we get used to riggin things up I prefer the right part though myself, I loose sleep if something isnt done right, or the best it can be. I cant even use 2 different connectors for say positive and negative, they have to be identical. I left a camera hanging today until tomorrow, as I didnt want to mount it without both sides having the same exact beanie (only had 1 on me today). Seriously, I would loose sleep

    IP cam supported DVR

I dont believe a Brit or Canadian would spam their site like this, has to be some [enter foreign 3rd world country] company that makes money based on ads .. or their address is total BS.

    Advise Please

Your ad claims 20m IR then in the specs it claims 30m IR .. what gives? Can you provide a sample image so that we can see the actual IR distance?

    GenIV 8LTA is a POS

I'd rather rig something and have my cameras recording, but if you can wait might need to search ebay or something. Or post a message in the classifieds looking for either damaged GenIV 8LTA (to get the PSU from) or just the PSU. The title of this thread might not capture the right audience.

    GenIV 8LTA is a POS

Should be able to goto a local PC store and pick up a 12V 5A power supply for a laptop, and splice that into the end, if you need it up right away at least.

What type of security camera is this?

Oh yeah .. my own basic one too LOL http://ip.bahamassecurity.com/ there are IP to Country databases that one can download and use in their own app. There are other databases that can then be used for long lat info and then you can just tie that into google earth. I dont use those databases though as they are huge and my poor atom netbook hosting my site cant handle all a that.

Just noticed that, they should turn that off. Might have issues with copyrighted images.
  11. know that is the King of analog cameras Not sure if I would use them again. They were okay, but I may go Computar instead. Used both and fujinon over the years though.
  12. And this gives an example of how a BIG area compares to a SMALL area And how the performance of something like a cheap color IR can vary considerably from one location to the next ... ofcourse your miles may vary!

  14. its a true D/N with no IR. an image you will never get with a gadspot. It has IR, but very little due to being short range and 940nm. But even with hardly any IR one can see how amazing it handles itself in low light, as the IR beam itself doesnt even go as far as the jeep in the image, in fact to begin with I thought the IR was not even working. Im only using it on a job as a TDN though, as it doesnt need IR in that case. I would like to try their step up with the longer range IR sometime, but it costs $50 more, and can only hope the actual camera is the same but only with the additional 830nm IR instead. But the thing that really impressed me was the color night image, all other TDNs I have tested dont match it, and ofcourse color IR cameras dont even come close to it. Even though its a Sony Effio, I used the $60 Sony Effio indoor dome from KT&C also, had to send 17 of them back!! it was a horrible image full of noise. Ofcourse the camera in the image above costs from $230, big difference from $60, and shows that cost really does matter .. sometimes at least

    Need suggestion on camera

Altronix. There are various models but it will depend on your camera amount and total current draw.
  17. Best TDN camera at night I have used in a couple years, blows away the monalisas. Best image yet with that dusk to dawn light, all others still produce noise or the light glare kills them - this was perfect. That is pitch dark on right by the way, it is short range 940nm IR LEDs. They have the step up with much more IR.
  18. 700TVL 960H Sony Effio from KT&C
  19. You would need to do this using server side scripting if the camera server does not support it. Eg. log each visit based on session. When each session times out minus total connected users etc. You need a developer that can work with the web server you use. Or learn the code yourself

    Need suggestion on camera

I would always use 24VAC if the camera supports it, unless ofcourse you are doing a basic 4 cam install sharing 1x 12VDC PSU and are all short distances.

Ok, the house has a few cameras around it, and some yard beams. Nothing special with that.

What type of security camera is this?

That's really odd, they loaded fine for me.. Must be your internet connection loading them slowly. Atom netbook, it does the same on mine. Cant handle all those huge images at once.
