    Sidways vandal proof housing

thanks, thats just what I was looking for, even seen it before actually, forgot about it .. Rory
  4. anyone seen any housings vandal proof, that will mount on a wall, but the camera can still look sideways (like to the left)?? In other words I dont want a traditional housing, and a bullet wont work, and I dont want to use rugged mini dome, I want something stronger, but everything I have seen looks straight ahead. Thanks Rory
  5. I dont have a next door, I have en efficiency, then there is a garage (very dirty with gasoline etc) next to me. I can only think of maybe bolting the lock box to the wooden ceiling like in the corner of the room? What do you think? There is an Attic, but it gets very hot, in the 150+ range as its a wooden roof and its like 60 years old. Thanks. I still need some answers on the other scenerios also, for notes. i havent forgot about your DVR cards, are you stil lselling them or was those the ones you have issues with getting unlock keys for now? We are still in the middle of starting up this new business called it X-treme CCTV, just put up a full wall sign, cost $600, and doing car signs now, and then property signs, and some other advettising in news papers etc, plus doing flyers to send out to the alarm companies 1500+ clients this month, alot of work, plus updating my catalog (can download online from www.BahamasSecurity.com ) When we start making some money, we can then buy stock for Demo equipment, right now cash is tight so have to rely on the catalog! 6. Whats the best location for a lock box for a DVR/VDR/1 Ch DVR in the following different situations? Lets say they have a remote keypad, or are using the PC to conenct via the network. 1-Appartment with No closet, just open room (this is my accomondations!) 2-Home/Condo.Appt with closets 3-Business (retail) Drop Ceiling 4-Office with Warehouse Do we mount it to the ceiling with strong screws? Ideas? Input needed please, thanks ) Rory
  7. if you keep the camera, you can buy something like a Kalatel VDR which is like a VCR but is digital so it is great quality, no tapes. http://www.spytown.com/vdr-40.html No PC connection though, but stable as it gets. Add a ATV Mux, 4 channel or 8/9 channel, color or BW depends what you need, and its good to go, they come with IR Remote controls. If you cant devote your PC 100% to the card then you need something like this, or even a stand alone all in one DVR, but they cost more than this and give you PC Connection to view playback. Ease of use, a stand alone machine, VDR & a mux, or all in one DVR/mux, will be simpler to use and more stable, but cost mroe than $300! As for cameras, do you still want hidden? If so check these out: http://www.spytown.com/search--by-part-number-speco-technologies--covert-cameras.html Question, do you want color or B/W? Do you need to view playback on your PC? And like herminsh said, support is a must, any well known brand like Kalatel you can get support for anywhere in the US very easy, and even by email direct to their enginneers. If on of these Asian DVR cards go bad, you may be on your own, unless you mail them back to the manufacturer direct or a rep in the US, if you can find one. Rory
  8. anyone have any links to some low end Color 4 channel muxeswith IR Remote, or an IR Remote add on device for other Muxes that dont come with it? thanks Rory

    Sarrasota

sad thing it is, the video surveillance may have helped capture the murderer, but unforunatey did not help save her life, though the camera can only do so much. Does anyone know what technology they used to enhance the video image, just curious? Anyone know what DVR was being used, compression type etc?? Condolences go out to the family and the girl who lost her life at such a young age.

  11. if you have a meter, you can check the power isgood, at the powe board of the camera, and check that you have a video sginal, you can test this with a meter also, at the end of the cable where you are plugging it into the TV, 1volt.

    4 channel fiber

I know you are speaking to allan, but myself I may take a trip there this year to say hello anyway:-)) My brother can get me 'buddy' passes as he works with Delta Airlines, which makes it very cheap airfare. I need a vacation, at least if I get the couple large jobs Im quoting right now... Rory

    explain a little?

yes you get better quality with a traditional type camera, because of the better quality lens, and they normally have more settings taht can be adjusted. Mini domes or bullet cameras have micro lenses or some mini varifocal, which are OK, but a full sized lens can give a better image, along with the better board in the traditional camera itself.
