  1. Any issue with IR bleed on Acti domes? I will be doing indoor ones. Probably 2 exterior domes, and then a few bullets. Gonna stay with the more cost effective model. Also with the dome and bullets can I just plug in te cable or do I need to use te coupler?
  2. So I don't get it, I am looking to add camera to house and was decided on Acti. However the wife wants a few camera's inside so I started looking at Cube Camera or Mini Dome from Acti. Why do none of these units have IR in them? I looked at Hikvision as well but same issue. So does any manufacturer have Cube or Mini Dome with IR? Or how do the ones from Hikvision or Acti work in a house after midnight with no lights on? I ideally was trying to use Acti so I could use their NVR 3 program but I guess I can do Blue-Iris.
  3. The acti domes are like 4" so was trying to avoid that thing sticking out. Is the Ir visible? I know with the vivotek models you can still see the red ir led. Would drive me nuts.
  4. Beside Axis what company has the ability to record onto SD and view live and recorded with some app. Looking for cheaper than Axis or ones that just have IR
  5. Maybe I should open my options. I want the camera to either record to local media or a NAS share (I have synology). I want to install no NVR recording software on a machine for recording I want to view all camera live and recorded information from a computer viewer, or web site or iPhone / Android app I want POE and IR Hikvision looks like some do the record to NAS. Can you buy from a US distributor?
  6. But that seems like you would need to access each camera individually. Do they have an app that allows access to all?
  7. Which company? Time frame? Will it have alerts? Will they make an app for iDevices and Android? Will the app be able to control all camera? Will they have a PC viewer app?
  8. so any other brands? the non poe of the AVTech kinda kills it. Unless ....
  9. Because if something vanish motion should be detected and I should be emailed an alert which I can always search the mail program
  10. Was thinking record on motion detection only and live view
  11. I see most of their models are not POE. Any input? I am trying to avoid having a DVR
  12. Which models are you using? Anyone hve images or video on these?
  13. I have a few sites that either don't have a building with an Internet Provider or no access to Line of Site wireless. I see Brickcom has some camera's with 3G support. Does anyone else have any models with this support for 3G or 4G?
  14. No I want a camera that has a SIM card so I don't need to plug into network. I have power but no network is possible. I don't expect to stream HD but something
  15. We have a Pelco camera that has failed at a marina. It didn't have any IR or Night Vision. Since this has failed we want to replace with a new model that has IR and great night vision. Other issue is they are using ONSII NetGuard DVR software. I do not see support for the newest ACTI Cameras Here is a list of support - http://www.onssi.com/support/supported-devices/supported-devices-results/?array147[]=OC-PS/IS/CS&entry=yes I know this is a lot of devices but I would say budget is in the $500-1000 range.

    Low Light Camera

After looking they now added all the new Acti ones. So you would recommend the E84? Anything else you would suggest?
  17. If you search the UBNt forum you will the software blows. You will also find a guide for Milestone. I would install Milestone and configure and he the cameras stable. If he doesn't like quality start upgrading some cameras as his budget allows Wifi gear from UBNT is great I hear the air cams are not up to speed yet
  18. Interesting. I am interested to see what camera's you end up with. I started looking at the Acti camera even though teh footprint is massive compared to the mini dome. But then I saw some posts regarding image quality and IR issues as well. I wish it was more cut and dry. Then I started researching the NVR and read issues about having 16 channels and MP cameras. I guess it is limited so you can only do 16 1MP camera at 15fps and nothing else.
  19. What nas? Are you planning on just recording to it or using the security software built into the nas?
  20. I noticed that Acti as well. Problem I am seeing is size. It is pretty big 6" by 6". Also not sure what I would record too. Was hoping of using the Dahua NVR. The Dahua Mini Dome (IR Model) is outside rated correct? It says IP66 but no where near does it mentioned Outdoor.
  21. i too am interested if they are coming out with a 2mp mini dome. I have been checking other manufactures, acti wouldn't be much more but the domes are a much larger size which i dont want on the front of my house. I emailed KD as well and waiting on response.
  22. My wife wants cameras at the house. Going to out one at the gate, one at front and rear door and maybe a few on property to generally cover the area. I bought a Dahua from Empire and purchased a logitech. Logitech had slightly better image during day and less at night. I didn't like being sucked into one recording product. Dahua I had with the synology. I CAN spend more on the camera but not sure f I need to for residential. I have the gate that will make cars or people stop so I was going to use the 1mp Dome. Same at the front and rear door. And some bullets on trees. I was going to swap the lenses with that HQ one in the Costco thread. NVR may be the synology or the dahua unit. Just some reassurance please. And if you recommend some other brand which models. I have used Vivotek in the past but comparable units will put me $300 per camera and I don't think the quality will be much better till I get up to he $400 range. Also do people have these going for more than a year? Thank you very much!
  23. Two situations 1) Wife's offices needs some cameras few inside and a few outside, just want to see who comes in and goes and to view the parking lot at night. I was thinking the Dahua ones, bullets for outside and dome for interior. The 1.3MP ones that are like $150 are what I was thinking. For her office was thinking of the NVR from Dahua as well with a POE switch. 2) House - My bro in law has the Logitech Alert camera so my wife wants these. I am not fond of these as they are black which will look horrible inside, and also not really fond of Logitech for this type of stuff. I purchased some Alert camera and one Dahua Bullet and have them both going. The Logitech seems to have slighly better quality during they day (haven't turned off the lights yet). Benefit of Logitech is you can put the SD card in and sign up for the online view. Negative to that is I am not keen on having my house activities recorded online. I also have a Synology Nas which has the Dahua camera on it and it has been working fine. So questions 1) Any issues with Synology NAS and running the Dahua? 2) Can I get any better quality camera then Dahua at the price? 3) Any performance issue with using the Synology as a NAS and also Security Station module. 4) Any way to add Logitech camera's to Synology? We live in a very safe area so not interested in spending $500+ on cameras. Logitech Camera are the max of my budget. Let me know!
