    LINUX DVR CARD

It just requires a standard PC, they are still capture cards. You will not have to buy a windows or Linux O/S.. that is if I rememebr everfocus correctly

    4 channel fiber

I really have limited O/S experience and the pace of CCTV here is still rather slow, I would have liked a chance to make big money. If you ever want to come here, there is a job for you running my business

Rory I need a screen shot of the search bar from the Kalatel as I need to recommend this feature to some programmers, can you send one to my email? Also next time you email them ask them who is the Australian Distributor for me, there is a lot of confusion as to who does it. Regards,

    LINUX DVR CARD

I am pretty sure we tried them, probably have the card in the whare house if you want it.. From memmory the use a flash type O/S they send you the cards and a small flash device with their O/S on it and that plugs into an IDE cable, It is a small blue device, you may check their site and see if this is the case.. please let me know, I tested them ages ago, was VERY stable I could not veen make it crash by trying everything, but the softwrae was very junky. This was a long time ago though. I hope this helped

    new wireless project

Interesting.. we are limited to about two available channels on 2.4 in Australia which makes wireless systmes very limited.. here is the link for the 4 in 8 out http://www.meritlilin.com we also sell them if you wanted one, they only have a 1 in 4 out on the site, however they do make a 4 in 8 out for us.

    Deleted video files

Onya Hermin!! Mate what has happened is that your index files were screwed, so when you ran the repair database utility they would have deleted the corrupted index and the files, you MUST turn off system restore when using Geo... Once againa software based UPS device will fix this problem... Other DVR devices haev the same problems HERMIN! its justt hat Geo has attempted to fix this issue. The reason is the AVI file is not completed when a machine is abnormaly shut down.. I sell a software integration UPS device with every built DVR that I sell. I can send you amore technical explanation if you like as I have sent it to all of my clients, just email me and I will send it to you.

would you beleive I cant even find an affordable pre amped MONO microphone in Australia, therefore I hardly ever sell a geo with Audio.

do not use T Pieces as they may cause loss of video quality, most looping switchers or quads are really cheap now or you could get a 4 in 8 out distribution amplifier... or the standalone above..

    Switcher Problem

    DNS

it is worth mentioning that Geovision has Dynamic IP support.. the program runs on your machine updating the Geo website with your changing address then you log in through the Geo website. Mind you I think they use No-IP to do this!

    Deleted video files

You have corrupted index files, caused from the system having a power spike or black out or the system not fully shutting down... look at the section of the drive you are recording to and check the dates,, if they are out of order...example.. one date is way old then your index is stuffed, you may try the geovision repair database facility however this is not fool proof. XP allows to view the camera folder dates by thumbnail view, if the funny date.. the odd old one does not preview what is inside this folder then you will definately have either.. no data... or corrupted data.. there is a program in Geo to repair corruptions, however once again.. not fool proof.. The simple solution is to make sure your video recordings are on a seperate partion and you use a UPS device that communicates with the DVR to shut it down on power loss.
