  1. Good Day All.

Can anyone here please tell me if it is possible to view the live feed from my Hikvision CCTV camera's on my Samsung Smart TV's?

    The TV's in question are a C8000 and a F6670.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best Regards.

  2. Well, i´m gonna explain better the title of the post.

I know ivms 4200, is a good software but in this ocasion i want to find a software, where can differ between an insect from a human.

The problem of Hikvision, when i select the area for motion detect, if a butterfly, insect or similar passes in front of the lens, automatically sends me an advice to my email (of course, as you can see, the camera is set up in an exterior place, not inside the home)

and my question is referring to,, is there any software to distinguish between a human (in my case is the only thing i´m interested) from a insect.

thanks so much for your support and help

Uses some computer power, but check it out....

  3. Man, this is a tough one. I've tried resetting the camera again, tried connecting to a Windows laptop (itself set to IP 192.0.0.100), and just can't even see the camera. If I boot into Mac OS X, the Hikvision tools at least report the camera as being online, but won't let me modify it.

About the only thing I can think of left to try is taking the POE switch out of the loop by powering the camera directly (12VDC supply), which I'll do this week. Otherwise I guess I get to learn how to try for TFTP firmware recovery/install. This sucks!

Where did you buy this fine camera?

  4. Thanks,

Having some issues with a few bits

Setup up No-ip account (and a dyndns) and managed to get all the ports forwarded etc. And works fine in my browser. mydomainname.ddns.net (etc) even works fine in my phone browser although cannot get the video playback working.

But downloaded 4 android apps and cannot get the stream in any of them, the Hikvision IVMS-4500 works fine in my ip address (192.168.0.64) but cannot get it working via no-ip or dyndns. Even though those address' work fine in my browser.

Any adivce would be very helpful.

And when i set up the Hikvision DDNS (hik-online.com) it says

'The device serial No. is not registered, please check the input and the device network settings'

did you enter in just the serial, and not the entire model and serial...

  5. Hello, I'm brand new to the forum and hoping someone can help me. I just got a small IP camera that I can view remotely (smartphone) and from my Mac, but I'm looking to be able to record the footage. Is there any good DVR software out there for the Mac that I can record the footage with?

    Thanks in advance.

The best software out there for the Mac is SecuritySpy. I've been using it for a while now and nothing else compares. It's rock solid, has a ton of features, and the support is excellent. If you have a problem with the software or are looking for new cameras to be added/new features the developer has been great at responding and implementing features. I tried a few others that I can't even remember now and none of them came close.

Have you used SightHound video for the mac. It used to be called Vitamin C. I have never used Security Spy, but have a hard time believing its better than SightHound. Ill check it out. Thanks

  6. You been suckered. Some resellers are honest, some try to mislead you. Yes, they get them from Hikvision, not the same as Hikvision USA, so they are warrantied by Hikvision in China, not Hikvision USA, but because it violates China's rules, you have zero warranty. I see this all the time on eBay, Amazon, they will say Hikvision USA but it's not.

Hikvision USA does not allows sales to resellers, only installers/integrators. If you buy from a reseller and it says Hikvision you can be assured its not Hikvision USA, they won't warranty it, they won't support you, you have to go back to the reseller and they have to warranty it.

so where in the US, would you PERSONALLY buy these Hik cameras....

  7. I have two DS-2CD8464F-EIW and one DS-2CD2432F-IW. All are being used as baby monitors and I really can't see a difference. The wife loves them as do the grandparents and the nanny. Our son just turned three so it's time to sell one of them but I've been very happy with Hikvision and the iVMS app. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have heard pros and cons with the iVMS app. How does this app compare to like IP cam Viewer Pro for Apple and Android. Any problems viewing remotely (4g or 3g outside your home network)?

  8. I think for a baby monitor Wifi is way better than wired/POE. That way you can move it anywhere in the house where you have a power outlet, wherever the kid goes, the camera goes.

There are some cheaper cameras with audio and P2P (we use Apexis). I think audio is a must for a baby monitor. P2P is great for those that do not want to bother with configuration, that way you only need to scan a QR code on the camera and presto, you can view the camera from mobiles and tablets without doing any more config (from inside and outside the network).

Which Apexis Camera have you used, that would work well for this application? Any US vendors?

  9. The nicest cube camera for that purpose is either the Hikvision DS-2CD8464F-EIW Alarm Pro or the DS-2CD2432F-IW Cube, both under $200.

I looked at the Hik site, and didnt see any HUGE differences. Sure the resolution and LUX, but which do you think would be better for my situation using it as a Baby Cam?

Looking as this again, looks like the DS-2CD2432F-I(W) has the 2 way audio as the other does not...?

    Thanks

  10. Hey Guys,

Looking for nice IP Camera that can be used as a Baby Monitor Camera. Budget $200 or under.

Looking for something with IRs that wont glow to strong to wake the baby. (IMPORTANT)
