That dvr will only support low resolution analog cameras. What you are seeing is dropped frames....try increasing your iframe interval to 20. try setting to constant bitrate.

You can run at max settings but as pointed out earlier its not nessesay...you will not see a difference if your run at 4096...Cat5e is meaningless, what brand? there are cheap cca cables that will cause tons of packet loss. Even bad crimps...Take the camera down, run a short cable and test. If you still have the problem, try recording direct to pc and see if the problems is resolved.

Wifi is much of your issue...its always going to cause problems... Dont use detection..select the proper camera form the dropdown...you should really toss the sricam in the trash, you will be better off for it.

When you go for IP camera system, please read the today's thread viewtopic.php?f=12&t=47989. 4MP IP Cameras? Wow that may cause a lot compelxity to Playback/Saving. I may recommend 720P IP, if you are confident with IP system. You may go for HD-Analog systems (720P is good enough)-HD-AHD/HD-CVI/HD-TVI, for your home application. There is no complexity. The biggest issue is that they have not been proven reliable. Anyone can build a camera that lasts 6 months. The cost of sending a technician out to replace a camera or 20 because you went with a low end product is not worth it (cost, customer satisfaction) There have been so many of these fly by night cams that end up being horror stories after 6 months or a year.
