  1. Thanks lads for your replies.

So this would be better if I eventually had eight POE cameras?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-Gigabit-Smart-Switch-Fiber/dp/B003GOFIBS/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1409251442&sr=1-1&keywords=8-Port+Gigabit+switch+POE

Do the cameras all plug into the switch and the switch is plugged into one router port?

I can easily enough run a cat5 cable to each camera.

Getting the Avermedia streaming onto Blueiris would not be a huge concern as I intend

Blueiris to take over with all IP cameras in the future.

I have two fairly new analogue cams connected to the Aver card but suppose so I could fleabay the lot.

  2. Hi All

I bought Blueiris as a basis to a new IP system to replace my failing Avermedia NVR5000 system.

I have some wired POE IP cameras (5MP they claim..) coming.

Obviously my WNDR3800 router has only four ports so am I right in figuring that

I will need one of these to connect multiple cameras using cat5e

Also, Is it possible to stream analogue cameras onto Blueiris from my Aver setup?

  3. Hi All

Has anyone got the new Avermedia iphone viewer app. working?

My NV5000 is viewable online via Dyndns so the ports etc. seem ok.

I have tried various ports including the correct one 5550 on the app. settings.

I get an error "Starting network failed"

If I use port 80, I get live buttons but they do not work.

Other ports show the buttons but they are not highlighted.

Would a static IP be better? Upload speeds seem ok as the system works fine with webviewer.

    Any ideas?

Thanks and happy new year to all.

    Charlie.

  4. Ok, I have trawled the forums and decided that the card I need is an Avermedia. Problem is which one? Basically, I have a small business here in Ireland and need a max of eight cameras. I also have a boat that I intend watching with a wireless network camera probably from Axis.

Being a relative newbie ( I own a Swann DVR4 net !) can I ask what is the difference between the NV5000 and the two NV7000 cards. One is the NV7000H and one does not have the H.

Am I mistaking or can I network the wireless network camera on the boat with the other cams at work and watch the whole lot from the office?

There is wifi where the boat is kept.

Can someone suggest which card is best. They would all be inside my budget.
