Yes, the price is accurate. We are not going to dive into an elevator, it will take coordinating with the elevator company. My question was if anyone thought if we could have good video signal over a 18ga braided untwisted pair of wire.

We have a client that wants a single camera inside of two elevators. We have received a quote from the elevator company to run the wire necessary for each camera, we were quoted at $47,000 for both. Absolutely ridiculous. Upon inspection they have 4 spare 18ga wires inside of each elevator. These wires were going to be used as part of the access control system, but never were. The wires go from the elevator to the elevator control room. My question is, can we successfully transmit video over these 18ga wires. We do also have 110v in the elevator so power over this distance will not be an issue. Just video transmission.
