I have just looked at the spec for the cameras I thought weren't working and it says the IR wavelength is 940nm. My original cameras appear to be 850nm.

Thanks The Toss Yes, it does that. So looks like they are working, but I think the range / quality of these other cameras is nowhere near as good as my others. I think the IR range on them is very short, hence it seems like they aren't very effective. Oh well, they are fine daytime cameras, I will just move the better IR ones into the positions which are less well lit. Cheers

Thanks I have had two of them linked directly up to the power pack without using the splitter and they didn't glow. There's a possibility the power pack isn't the original one, but it's the same (12v 2amp) as my power pack on my other system. I have also used that power source with no avail and also put one of the camera to the other system. Would the LED's always glow red?

Hi I have two seperate swann 4 chanel systems around my property. One is new and the IR camera's glow red and you can hear them click onto night vision when the light drops. The other system is about 2 years old, same DVR but the cameras are Swann ADS180 and they weren't used for a while. I have just installed them around my garage. However, all 4 of them work fine by day, but the IR doesn't appear to be working on any of them at night. They don't glow red like my other Swann Pro 530 cameras do. I have noticed the IR have a limit to how many hours they work on average. I am not sure if something is wrong with the set up of if the LED's have just gone past there lifespan? It seems odd that all four cameras are doing exactly the same. Can anyone advise if it's likely they have died or do I have a power issue or something else? Are the LED's replacable or not?
